Those who have been to Soli's live show, he always narrates a couple of ghazals in Parsi. Know which ones I am talking about? I am looking for complete lyrics of those two. They are really really funny.

Anyone?

Yes I think I had it.. I laughed like crazy when he said it in one of his programs back in August 2002 here in bay area. He was here with Nisha Upadhyay at that time. Let me see if I can search for it. I remember writing it down as soon as I got out of the program. It was fantastic!!!

You may be interested in Naad Brahma organization...they bring various artists over to bay area. My ex-neighbour Sanjeev Dalal started it. Now they live in SJ so not too sure how active it is, but I know that he was instrumental in getting the show in Naz organized.

Thanks for the info.

Here's the parsi geet that we talked about biggrin.gif these were the only stanzas I could recall back then. Not sure if there's more to it.

aai mane su karech

prem maa parvaanu kidhu to gabri paryo
ne have nikarvaa mathech
aai mane su karech

daar-bhaat bhega thaay em prem karvo hato
ne have khichro karech
aai mane su karech

heer-ranjha romeo-juliet ni jem prem karvo hato
ne have paani-pat larech
aai mane su karech..

We have one parsi bawa in our office too. I love to listen him when he talks in typical surati/parsi style. tongue.gif
