Hamara Forums _ Mohd Rafi _ Rafisaab & Sholay

Posted by: iqbal Oct 23 2003, 07:11 PM

I read an article somewhere Rafisaab was fond of playing tennis, flying kites etc etc.
His all time favourite film was Sholay.

Isn’t is just amazing to learn although Rafisaab was not selected for any songs of this superhit, he held no grudges for not having any part of this movie.

However I personally feel Rafisaab and KK would have done better justice to Yeh Dosti.

Who was the producer of this film / MD ?

I wonder why Rafisaab was not selected for this film.

Your views……….

Iqbal

Iqbal ji,
That's what these legends are all about. Their character is so high that mere emotions like jealousy, grudges dont touch them. Success does not equate to what they sing or do as their profession but their personal traits/values also do count. I think that is one reason their work and memories will last forever and they live in the hearts of their true fans. It is pure stuff, not fake or made-up. I was watching a video on mohdrafi.com and noticed how someone said that Rafi sahab didnt charge a paisa for singing when he found out the movie makers didnt have much money to pay to everyone. What a noble person!

Thanks & regards,
Chitralekha

Thatz probably the reason why everyone is not mohd rafi and kishore kumar.

That artist is Shabbir Kumar. He has a story..... he had dropped his wrist watch in Rafi's grave.

Incidentally, I got to watch this movie just yesterday at a friend's house. Brought back a lot of memories.

The music director was R. D. Burman.

I believe Chitralekha was very right in saying that the "character of these legends is so high that mere emotions like jealousy, grudges dont touch them. Success does not equate to what they sing or do as their profession but their personal traits/values also do count. "
And even though, we as mere mortals might not know what Mohammad Rafi's inner-most personal thoughts or observations might have been on him not being approached for the soundtrack of the movie. We, as avid followers of the humble legend can be sure from his other available documented dealings & interactions or narrated instances of his dealings with people, that he(Mohammad Rafi) wouldn't have held any sort of jealousy or grudge against the music director or others who appeared on the sound track.

HA! I wish it did, sadly Hingis is not to be found anymore : (
Such a -creative flavor- that would be.
For ladies - Fed Express
If you want a mid/late 20 year old, who actually looks like a late 30s aunty, in Patty S.....then she is the swiss flavor of the month : ) )

Time to sing a song :

O Mere bechain dil ko chain tune diya, mere bechain dil ko chain, tune diya
Shukriya aaa , Shukriya, o Shukriya, Shukriya
O Tera ehsaan hai jo pyar tune kiya, tera ehsaan hai jo pyar tune kiya
Shukriyaaa aaa Shukriya, O Shukriyaaa aa Shukriya.....
