no prob adi.. u ve mentioned somewhere ( i dunno where that u ve, some songs of lata from unreleased films devdas, abhi abhi libaas krishna ...? reshma o reshma (dont remember others) if there,s no problem at ur end can u send me these songs .....except libaas (ve cassette of libaas), reshma o reshma, krishna ...at neerajdivy@gmail.com... n plz also tell me in reshma o reshma lataji has sung only two songs naa (le chal kahin... and khushi ke saath) n in krishna one song i.e.krishna tera naamhai ,if so i ve all these 3 songs ..wht r th other lataji unreleased songs

I am now uploading the songs from the 1997 Jeetendra-Jaya Prada starrer Lav Kush. The film sank without a trace and so did its soundtrack. It is extremely difficult (if not impossible) to find the audio of this film in shops or on the Net. The film had 18 songs (!!) composed by Raamlaxman. Here I'm posting 6 songs sung by the sisters.

14 duets of Lata - asha under SJ ! songs ( including 2nd verision of " ankhon ankhon mein with manna)

Thats highest no of duets under Any MD ( along with LP ! )


Since I have some info on SJ aspect of the duets of these two singers so would like to share.

Once one of our grp member asked Asha ji about her first duet with lata ji and she started talking about Basant bahar( or Halaku?) duet as the first one. only to be told about the correct one laterz. Probabily she couldnt remember the earlier ones well but the popular Basant bahar one more !

Such things are bound to happen. SJ gave 14 duets to Lata- Asha in just 100-130 movies till 1972.( Shankar didnt used Lata laterz ). more would have come had Shankar continued working with Lata. Of all the above songs IMO 9 songs are by Shankar !!!

Take for instance year 1956 SJ gave Lata- Asha three brilliant duets in a single year - " kar gaya re", Man bhavan ke ghar aaye gori , " aji chale aao " ! SJ had done their work with others to follow them !

Even the earlier one from mayur pankh - Ya barkha bahar sautaniya ka, is a brilliant one ! A semi classical duet. one must listen to this early song of both sisters to check out differences( for those fond of )

And then in Mukabala humse na karo is nice nice sisters sang with nice western - Indian fusion music !

And then most of these songs WERE POPULAR (as well had nice content for quality conscious )

ultra slow( aankhon aakhon mein ) to fast ( kya hua ) SJ gave all to Both Lata - Asha

I dont think any MD can match SJ in this aspect- variety, quality and quantity ! ! let me KNOW of one !

PS : Its just coincidence that last week I was talking with one SJ fan on these Lata - Asha duets. and one song that we discussed was Mayur pankh's " ye barkha bahaar "

I think after we're done with the Hindi duets of Lata/Asha, we should also have a count of their duets in other languages (Marathi, Bengali, etc), as well as a list of all those songs which have tandem/solo versions by both sisters (eg. Samay O Dhire Chalo).

The song I'm looking for is a rare version of an otherwise popular song. The version of 'Sakhi Ri Sun Bole Papiha Us Paar' from 'Miss Mary' (1957) that I have, has just one antraa. Now IIRC, I remember reading somewhere that another version of the song was released, with two antraas. Many sites list the lyrics of the second antraa as something like..."bairi aisi dhun mein bole". This version however misses all the taankaari(?).

Anyone having this version of the song is requested to please upload it here.

Saksham, it's been a while since you put this request and I'm not sure if you've got this song, but I just discovered that I had the song in my collection. Today I decided to dust-off my old audio cassette collection, and found this version in an HMV compilation. I will digitize it shortly and upload it.
