Radha Krishna 1954 Tum Bansi Ho Main Taan - Lata Mangeshkar & Geeta Dutt I don't hear Geeta Dutt's voice in this song that CM2 uploaded. What do mahesh ji and parag think? Rajnishji, I do hear Geetaji's voice in the lines - Tan Do Hain Ik Hai Pran, Jug Jug Se Bhes Badalte....... Geeta Dutt's name is mentioned in Gulshan Pammer's Sahir Ludhianvi's Geet-Kosh too which was compiled with the help of Shri Harminder Singh Humraz. I am attaching the scan. Parag, we need you here. |

FOR LADIES ONLY (TITLEE)(1951) too isn't by Sahir! Anupamaji, could you please share the excel list in zip format? Erumji, as per my gathered info, Sahir has written the lyrics of three songs for the movie For Ladies Only (Titli). Kindly recheck it! I'll upload the excel sheet soon! Anupamaji, thanks for excelsheet! According to Hindi Film geet Kosh, "Hum Toh LOVE Karke Pachhtaaya" & "Yeh Nayi Roshni Aayi Hai" are written by "SOHANLAL SAAHIR" and "Mera Mann Jhoom Jhoom Lehraaye" is by SEHRAAI" Erumji, thanks a lot for checking it again for me. Now who is this Sohanlal Sahir? Mere 3 Sahir ke songs kam ho gaye I've updated my excel sheet accordingly. Thanks! |

At first I thought that Lataji's voice was correct
but if I slow the track and change the pitch I guess I can hear Geetaji's voice and Lataji's voice sounds like yasmin songs. Another possibility is that there is third voice and that is Geeta Dutt who only sings there lines. . . . Tu meri roop kahani mein teri prem katha hoon . . . dhara ka roop hai sagar sagar ka roop hai dhara This post has been edited by r&d: Nov 8 2008, 01:26 PM |

Quoting from Wiki -
Sahir Ludhianvi made his debut in films writing lyrics for the film Aazadi Ki Raah Par (1949). The film had four songs written by him and his first song was Badal Rahi Hai Zindagi.... Both the film and its songs went unnoticed. However, with Naujawaan (1951), he gained recognition. S.D. Burman composed the music for Naujawaan. Even today, the film's lilting song, ठंडी हवाए लहराके आए..., remains popular. His first major success came the same year with Guru Dutt's directorial debut, Baazi (1951), again pairing him with music composer, S.D. Burman. Thus he became, part of the Guru Dutt team, and after the success of Naujawaan and Baazi, the combination of Sahir Ludhianvi and S.D. Burman came out with many more everlasting songs. |
