Hi all,
I am starting this new topic from today. As name suggests each and every song of Suman Kalyanpur will qualify in this topic. No barriers set. Filmy, Private, Hindi, Non-hindi, Solo, Duets, everything is allowed.
To structure it, I am planning to upload songs starting with Hindi filmi and that too year wise, movie wise. All of you are requested to follow same sequence if possible. I might be missing many songs and hence will need your help to contribute.

Suman Kalyanpur was victim of film world politics: Bhujbal
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal said singer Suman Kalyanpur, famous for yesteryear's hits like 'Na Tum Hamen Jano' and 'Mere Mehboob Na Ja', was sidelined in the industry despite her immense talent.
"Kalayanpur is an extremely talented singer, who did not get the recognition she deserved, due to politics in the film industry at the time," Bhujbal said, after the government presented the Lata Mangeshkar Award 2009 to 74-year old Kalyanpur here last night.
On the similarity between the voice of Lata and Kalyanpur, Bhujbal said, "when we listen to Kalyanpur's voice we cannot differentiate between both the voices.
"Till somebody points out that the song is by Suman Kalyanpur, one feels it is sung by Lata Mangeshkar," Bhujbal said, equating the two singers with cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag.
Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, who presented the award to Kalyanpur, said the singer made it in the music world on her own and "worked beautifully, without waiting for women's reservation."
In her acceptance speech, Kalyanpur said she could do well on the professional front and also in her role as a housewife, due to the support of her husband.
"My husband supported me so much that he remembered each and every song of mine and the circumstances surrounding it," Kalyanpur said.
Born on January 28, 1937, Kalyanpur, in a career which began in 1953, has recorded songs for movies in several languages besides Hindi like Marathi, Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Bhojpuri, Rajasthani, Bengali, Oriya, and Punjabi.Her recordings include devotional songs, ghazals, and thumris.

Thanks for pointing this out Aditya. HFGK hasn't specified name of singers for few songs for this movie and hence I missed it. Manna-Suman Duet - Meri bholi bhali rani, Suman solo - Mohe apna bana. Attaching both (Courtsey HF member)

the website seems to be data from one of those books.
only problem is that it starts from 1951 and gives even assistant MD name. It seems to be fairly accurate.
Since I don't have any books so I have to rely on these kinds of site.

You are right Rushin. This indeed is Manna Dey if I have to trust my ears. I don't know source of this song, but it's quite possible that on 78 RPM it was one singer and on movie track it was another. HFGK credits this song to Rafi. Mat be Manna dey version is from moive track. Or else, the movie booklet had incorrect information. It's Manna dey everywhere.

I think, this movie had only one song by Suman (a duet with Rafi).
We had discussion on 'unse nazren mili' song.
Lata Mangeshkar, Minoo Purushottam:
unse nazaren milee aur hijaab aa gayaa
zindagi mein haseen inqilaab aa gayaa
(Note: Several sources mention a second version of this song by Lata and Suman in 78rpm records.
According to Nerurkar's book it is a misprint in 78rpm records. There is no Lata-Suman version of this song.)
Hercules (1964): This movie had one more song by Suman.

Ghazal (1964):
I think, this movie had only one song by Suman (a duet with Rafi).
We had discussion on 'unse nazren mili' song.
Lata Mangeshkar, Minoo Purushottam:
unse nazaren milee aur hijaab aa gayaa
zindagi mein haseen inqilaab aa gayaa
(Note: Several sources mention a second version of this song by Lata and Suman in 78rpm records.
According to Nerurkar's book it is a misprint in 78rpm records. There is no Lata-Suman version of this song.)
Hercules (1964): This movie had one more song by Suman.
Suman Kalyanpur, chorus:
ho gayaa hai, kuchh humein hum, beqabar aise nahin, dil toh pehale bhi dhadkta tha, magar aise nahin (3:22 \ 128)

HFGK lists this Hercules song as Asha song which might be a mistake in movie booklet and got replicated in HFGK.

Bhule Bisre Geet on Vividh Bharati has been airing quite a few rare songs of Suman Kalyanpur - atleast one song every day. I have managed to record some of them. AM sorting / tagging them out. Will upload them shortly
