I just wanted to underscore the ever-increasing menace of wrong (sometimes laughable) taggings on Youtube by various other people!! And, unfortunately, the next person takes it as Bible!!!

There is no issue of taking any offense about it. My laptop is still down and have to sneak in with the wife's laptop whenever free!

You spot on about the bloomers in YT, with I being an unwitting party to some of them.

Prior to joining this forum, I used to take earthmusic as the bible, which has some equally ridiculous listings.

Luckily the list of Anupamaji is nearly fool proof I guess.

Still a trifle difficult to change the old uploads in YT, for converting MP3 to FLV itself was a herculean task for an amateur like me.

Will try to change the tags in the title, as and when I get the laptop back in shape.

the observations made should be taken in the right spirit. You have done a great job. When one is doing such an hurculline task small mistakes are bound to occur. Even the list uploaded by Anupamaji is not fool proof. There are some entries which are neither shown in the Geetkosh or in the book "MOHAMMAD RAFI MERE GEET TUMHARE" published in 1998. But we must appreciate the efforts put in by her and yourself. I am trying to update the excell sheet uploaded by Anupama ji after comparing it with Geetkosh as well as the book published on Rafi saheb. The moment it is complete i will upload it.

Romeshji, it would be nice if you could consult Geet-Kosh n the other book and post the updated list.
Let's start it with the entries in my list but couldn't be found in Geet-Kosh. Kindly post the list of these songs so that I can double check using my collection n sources. There are many songs that are not mentioned in books but they exist. An example: Bobbyji mentioned in one of his posts that Jism Ka Rishta contains one Rafi sahab's song - Iss Ishq Ki Maar Se Gulfaam Maara Gaya - MD - Deedar Singh.

I have seen one upload of yours on Youtube from Film: SHAHEED-E-AZAM BHAGAT SINGH-1954 of Rafi Saheb!

You wrongly mentioned the hero of the film as SHAMMI KAPOOR and also wrongly mentioned the MD as Husnlal Bhagatram!!! I have given my correction comments on FB where it was re-posted by someone!!

I am reproducing my comments there:

"1)The hero of this Film: Shaheed-e- Azam Bhagat Singh-1954 is Prem Adeeb as Bhagat Singh and NOT SHAMMI KAPOOR!!! Sarfaroshi Ki Tamanna was sung by Rafi Saheb under Lachhiram the MD! LACHHIRAM (and NOT HUSNLAL BHAGATRAM) is the MD of this Film!

2)There is another Film: Shaheed Bhagat Singh (no Azam!!)-1963 in which the hero was SHAMMI KAPOOR!!! MD for this one is HUSNLAL BHAGATRAM. There is another Sarfaroshi song by Rafi Saheb in this!

3) There is a third Film: Shaheed-1965 in which Bhagat Singh was Manoj Kumar! MD:Prem Dhawan. There is yet another Sarfaroshi song by Rafi Saheb in this!"


Rafi Saheb had the unique distinction of having sung R.P.Bismil's Sarfaroshi Ki Tamanna song in three different versions, for three different films and for three different MDs, as detailed above!
