Bollywood lyricist Prasoon Joshi to get 'Shailendra Samman'

Dehra Dun, Aug 22 : Famous Bollywood lyricist Prasoon Joshi will be conferred with prestigious 'Shailendra Samman-09' on August 30 here.

ONGC GM Sunder Lal said the Samman was instituted in memory of famous Bollywood lyricist late Shailendra in 2000 by a Roorkee-based Shailendra Trust.

Prasoon Joshi, who hails from Uttarakhand, has written some of the best lyrics for songs in the hit films like Rang De Basanti, Black, Tare Zameen par, Fanaa and Gazini.

Lyricists such as Gulzar, Kaifi Azmi, Gulshan Bawara, Neeraj and Yogesh have also been felicitated with this award.
