This has relevance to the Talat article by Imran.
http://www.hamaraforums.com/index.php?showtopic=71 I've seen many articles where famous, legendary and not so famous, not so legendary artists have come out and said something good about any artist. Has Rafi said anything on any artist .... i mean has it appeared on any books or sites? kuch bhi nahin hai tera mol, boli na badi bol, khilona tu maati ka...

Pradeep ji,
I found this from a Yahoo group named "telugulovers". See the text in boldface. Chitralekha ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Message 534 of 943 From: NaChaKi Date: Fri Mar 2, 2001 7:27 am Subject: Re: [telugulovers] Ee paata yekkadidhi? Kalyan, The song is actually #haayi haayigaa aamani saage...". I can give the lyric for the song if you want, I guess I remember the whole song. The song is from #suvarNa suMdari# starring ANR and Anjali in the lead. Music scored by Adinarayana Rao (the movie is produced by him, Anjali pictures banner, he's Anjali's husband, I guess you know). The song was sung by Ghantasala and Jikki in Telugu, and the song #kuhu kuhu ... kOyal ....# in Hindi (you know I am not good at this ) was sung by Rafi and Lata. Both Rafi and Lata praised Ghantasala and Jikki for the ease in their voice in the Telugu song. Lata said she could not sing it with that ease, and Rafi said that the #gamakaalu# in Ghantasala's voice were unmimicable. :-) The song actually is composed in a few raagaas, not just one. They're, hmmm, not really completely Hindustani raagaas, but they have their respective counterparts there. The Carnatic raagaas that come through the song are #vasaMta, kaanaDa, dES^...# (I don't remember others, I can get them if someone can give me a link to the song, which I unfortunately did not find). Actually, believe it or not, I heard the song just today when one friend was trying to play (the Hindi version) on the keyboard! And I told him I'd get a link for the song, and wanted to post a query here!!! 100 years for this song :-D NaChaKi ===== |
