Basically, there was a window of a few years (late 40s - mid 50s) where when the record was released, renditions of popular songs from the film (by other singers) were also added as a bonus to increase sales. I don't think you'll find a single version (including Ye Kooche Ye Neelam) which is as well sung as the original. The MD composed with a specific singers vocal talents in mind and the audience identified the song with the film/actor and the associated singer so the pitch was heavily against the version song. Probably that is the reason for the discontinuance..... But the handful of versions in circulation are interesting to hear nonetheless.....
