Greetings to the Hamara Forums fraternity, especially to Rafi Sahab fans and uploaders

First of all my apologies for a prolonged absence. Mainly the computer broke down last year, and after that had internet problems. Luckily bulk of my Rafi Sahab treasured collection was retrieved, albeit a bit late.

Recently I have managed to consolidate the collection to 5000 plus. As I’d mentioned, my collection is primarily through the net. The bulk of it is through You Tube. (As you would have noticed You Tube is having some great uploads of rare numbers of Rafi Sahab, more so of late). This collection was consolidated to a great extent thanks to Dr Surjit’s site. Further some persons have been magnanimous enough to share rare gems through mails/exchange programs including from far flung countries.

HF’s contribution has been through the rare gems. A big thank you to all of the generous uploaders for that .

As Venkat ji once caustically mentioned HF has a obsession bordering on to a fetish for the rare numbers. (One probably does to listen to them very often but it probably is compulsive obsession peculiar to collectors)

Having said that, when one googles for the rare numbers of Rafi Sahab, most of the results thrown up are from HF. (Okay one may not get the songs as these are regularly purged – a necessity for the site I guess- but at least we get the film details and confirmation of the song!

I also wish to thank the moderators for helping out with forgotten passwords, apart from the huge task of running the site.

Am uploading a Non filmi Ghazal of Rafi Sahab, which I got from e-snips. As I do not have the link off hand, am uploading the song itself. The details are :

I am having problems in accessing HF. Whenever I click on the attachments or post, it gives a message : oops this window is broken and does not allow access.

I am not sure whether it is site related or my computer related.

Venkatji, you had given a trick long time back to clear history as far as I remember. Now it clears everything including my site usernames and passwords.

Can the more tech savvy HF members help me out

This apparently is a private ghair filmi number of Rafi Sahab, sung during his daughter's wedding by him. It also seems to be another para of "Ghar se dola chala laadli ka" already uploaded in YT.

I got it from Mr Abid Khalil's collection of 3000 plus songs of Rafi Sahab, which he has uploaded in the net. Thanks Mr Khalil. I've just edited it a bit, as it seems to have only one para.

When no one else has complained about this then you have
to assume it is your machine.
First thing you could do is
briefly Change your browser. try downloading.
briefly Turn off virus checker. try downloading.
search in google for similar error message.

This website has put in flood control so you have to wait 30 seconds
before you can initiated another request. so make sure you are not
doing too many things.
Make sure you don't have spyware or other things that interfere
with downloading but usually you will get that in other websites too.

friends ihave also faced this many times.
i have learnt a trick
1)try with google chrome & when you come across this problem just unistall the chrome (do not forget to delete all coockies & again install google chrome & all the problem vanishes.

This website only cares about cookie for logging in. once I login I turn off accepting cookies.
All the status information is in a database. So may be there is corruption in your user account.
only way to test that is to try another login account or ask Admistrator to wipe most of your user cache.
So deleting cookies is not the answer. uploading is much harder task for a webserver
than downloading. downloading gets affected by speed of the network, amount of users
hitting the server. server are sitting in America so it is long away from where you are.
I don't think webserver has been the problem with this site, it has always been the database.
In Windows world, tech help always blames the user and never Microsoft.
You can uninstall, re-install, update patch, do the holky polky. pray, etc.

While surfing I found some Chattisgarhi songs of Rafi Sahab. Further, I also found a nice anecdote about Rafi Sahab's magnanimity about it.

मनु नायक अपने सीमित बजट की वजह से गीतकार डॉ.एस.हनुमंत नायडू ‘राजदीप’ और संगीतकार मलय चक्रवर्ती पर यह राज जाहिर नहीं करना चाहते थे कि वह बड़े गायक-गायिका को नहीं ले सकेंगे। लेकिन, होनी को कुछ और मंजूर था। तब मलय चक्रवर्ती धुन तैयार करने के बाद पहला गीत रफी साहब की आवाज में ही रिकार्ड करने की तैयारी कर चुके थे और उनकी रफी साहब के सेक्रेट्री से इस बाबत बात भी हो चुकी थी। सेक्रेट्री रफी साहब की तयशुदा फीस से सिर्फ 500 रूपए कम करने राजी हुआ था। सीमित बजट के बावजूद अपनी धुन के पक्के मनु नायक ने हिम्मत नहीं हारी और मलय दा को लेकर सीधे फेमस स्टूडियो ताड़देव पहुंच गए। इसके आगे का हाल खुद मनु नायक की जबानी सुनिए – “वहां जैसे ही रफी साहब रिकार्डिंग पूरी कर बाहर निकले, मैनें उनके वक्त की कीमत जानते हुए एक सांस में सब कुछ कह दिया। मैनें अपने बजट का जिक्र करते हुए कह दिया कि मैं छत्तीसगढ़ी की पहली फिल्म बना रहा हूं, अगर आप मेरी फिल्म में गाएंगे तो यह क्षेत्रीय बोली-भाषा की फिल्मों को नई राह दिखाने वाला कदम साबित होगा। चूंकि रफी साहब मुझसे पूर्व परिचित थे, इसलिए वह मुस्कुराते हुए बोले – कोई बात नहीं, तुम रिकार्डिंग की तारीख तय कर लो। और इस तरह रफी साहब की आवाज में पहला छत्तीसगढ़ी गीत -‘झमकत नदिया बहिनी लागे’ रिकार्ड हुआ। इसके अलावा रफी साहब ने मेरी फिल्म में दूसरा गीत ‘तोर पैरी के झनन-झनन’ को भी अपना स्वर दिया। इन दोनों गीतों की रिकार्डिंग के साथ खास बात यह रही कि रफी साहब ने किसी तरह का कोई एडवांस नहीं लिया और रिकार्डिंग के बाद मैनें जो थोड़ी सी रकम का चेक उन्हें दिया, उसे उन्होंने मुस्कुराते हुए रख लिया। मेरी इस फिल्म में मन्ना डे, सुमन कल्याणपुर, मीनू पुरूषोत्तम और महेंद्र कपूर ने भी गाने गाए लेकिन जब रफी साहब ने बेहद मामूली रकम लेकर मेरी हौसला अफज़ाई की तो उनकी इज्जत करते हुए इन दूसरे सारे कलाकारों ने भी उसी अनुपात में अपनी फीस घटा दी। इस तरह रफी साहब की दरियादिली के चलते मैं पहली छत्तीसगढ़ी फिल्म में इन बड़े और महान गायकों से गीत गवा पाया।”

I'd loaded a song by Rafi Sahab from the maiden Chattisgarhi film made. There was also an anecdote outlinining how Rafi Sahab sang the song for a token payment, due to the limited budget of the producer, without bothering about an advance,and sparing time from his hindi film songs (1965 Rafi Sahab was ruling the Hindi Film music world, probably at his peak).

As mentioned in the anecdote, there is a second song by Rafi Sahab in the film. Am uploading the same
