Lata, bad girl, shouldn't you have thought of the obvious person to turn to?
Strange how suddenly everybody is getting hooked into mystery marathi movies... Here goes... Self - belief is the most potent force.

QUOTE(dmuk20 @ Jun 16 2005, 11:18 AM) My pleasure Debu-da. Pls feel free to ask for any songs you'd like. I believe I have a fair collection, though nowhere as big as the stalwarts of this forum Self - belief is the most potent force.

Debu-da, sorry for this super-late rejoinder, but just went back to your first post, and saw that you do not know what the song means.
It is the male who is addressing a girl called Gomu. He asks her whether she is willing to come with him, and be the 'Queen of his love' (literal translation). And she replies that she is not ready to be that. Through the song he makes his case why she should. Eventually, by the end of the song, she (obviously) consents. Self - belief is the most potent force.

Another terrific Asha-tai number from the same movie. The composer, as is his style, weaves beautiful melodic patterns involving difficult chord changes.
The bengali version sung by the elder sister for the 'Pujas' of 1977 seems to be equally good - 'paddapaataay bhorer shishir'. I do not have this song with me, though. Regards-Archie. |
