A residential area on the outskirts of Amsterdam
Florence Lucerne, Switzerland Lion Monument, Lucerne, Switzerland Summer of 2000-Europe , Summer of 2002-Phoenix, Arizona Summer of 2004-Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Diego, Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon. Summer of 2005- ? Malaysia, Singapore,New York, Chicago, Washington DC, St.Louis, Niagara Falls, San Diego (Hopefully). Recollection of Summer of 2000 London, France, Italy, Austria, Lichtenstein, Switzerland, Germany & Holland- I had been to Western Europe in the Year 2000. The 30 day trip was wonderful & worthwhile. Europe is a beautiful continent, with a lot of history, culture & most of the country side has all the old world charm. Very Clean even with the heavy influx of summer crowds. We stayed in London for 8 days & visited most of the places. The nice thing about London, you can travel all over the city & suburbs by the underground, one does'nt feel the need for a cab. Even from Heathrow, you can take the underground right up to your hotel, B&B inn. A one day travel card ( apprx 3.70 pounds) entitles you to Zone 1 & 2 as well as the London bus. One can get all the details on the net & every place is exactly as described, very precise. All sight seeing spots carry a min fee of apprx 10 to 20 pounds excepting the London Museum & the parks, which are free. Hyde Park which is opposite the Buckingham Palace is such a huge & beautiful park, we used to spend all the evening here, it was so serene & peaceful. Some of the important visiting sites in London- Buckingham Palace, Westminister Abbey, Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, The Tower of London, London Museum, Millineum Dome, London Eye, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square & a walk along the thames & don't miss spending some time at Hyde Park, Regents Park etc. For your shopping needs you can take a walk on Oxford Street. We did not have enough time to visit Scotland, it is supposed to be a beautiful place. We did visit Windsor Palace outside of london. Indian food you will get in plenty but most of the Indian restaurants in London are run by Bangladeshis, this is the case with the rest of Europe too. Most Lodoners carry their umbrellas even in summer, it rains suddenly, one can never know. In the summer the days are long, you have daylight even upto 9:30 in the evening. More of Continental Europe in the next post. All the photos posted in the different threads in Tourists Paradise are my own. I have two still cameras & one video camera. Cannon Power Shot G5 Digital Camera & a Minolta SLR camera with a 28 to 80mm Lens as well a 75mm to 300mm lens. I have used these for my amateur photography. I have erased my pictures from the photographs appropos photoshop. "The moment we want to believe something, we suddenly see all the arguments for it, and become blind to the arguments against it."
