hi!
i was a member at the old yahoo rafi forum and used to love discussions about -songs, singing,lyrics, stories of how songs were made, X v/s Y, rumours, comparisions-observations-notifications etc....there is nothing of that type here, guys are busy playing antakshri(but a thread should not get so long that any new guy finds it difficult to get in)- going through the old thread i found it was very informative-am i mistaken . pls correct me then. regards cinemaniac2 |

cinemaniac2, Glad to know that you are back here with us. Good to hear that you loved carrying on with discussions about everything related to HFM. Your observation is quite brutal, unfortunately for the Antakshri players. I believe the problem lies in the fact that the majority of users haven't really gotten into the habit of carrying on with discussions using the current forum format. They want to revert to the old email thing. That, my dear sir, isn't an option. Or so we've been told by Bruce 'Pepko' Almighty himself. So, I hope you try and participate more from your end. Hi there,
Yes I agree, yahoo group was much active and much better in some ways than this place. But! a lot of members from India were unable to access yahoo group because of the banning by the GOI. Now we've moved here so that everyone can have access. Change is essential. We tend to like old things better because we are used to them but that does not mean we can not get used to the new things. Too much philosophy on a Sunday morning. Lets start similar discussions here and I'm sure we can be as active as we used to. More and more members are still coming to this place for the first time. Yahoo group had more than 450 members. This place has a bit more than 130 so obviously we dont have same number of posts yet. I'm sure things will get better with time. For the antakshari thread, well, I had to find something to keep myself active and not having too many members in beginning, I thought antakshari was a good way to start. That does not mean we have to keep playing it forever. I'd love to have that thread closed. Sharad, would you please do us a favor and close the thread? Thanks a lot. So to answer your question, we are missing about 300 members and the old GUI and whole lot of large emails in our accounts.  Hope they all join us soon and we start talking like we used to back in old days.Thank you. Best wishes, Chitralekha |

Cinemanic.. change is always important in life.. I belive its the basis of life. Nothing stays still. 90% of human race dislike change simply bcoz an effort has to be done to understand the new system, new ways .... drawing a line between the advantage and the disadvantage. Regarding the old forum, it took around 2 years to bring in some life into the group. Same will repeat here.. it may take 3 years here.  kuch bhi nahin hai tera mol, boli na badi bol, khilona tu maati ka...

Imran, an option was provided to Rafians ... that videos can be posted on the site only if we move to dedicated server due to bandwidth issue. I was so happy when many Rafians had come forward to pay their share to nullify the server expense. But when I actually made an investment and successfully transferred to dedicated server, only 5 have come forward and actually paid. If I allow rafians to use yahoo! MAS.. HF will not work... not even the lil thatz working now. For instance BBM, since Nimii did not close it, we don't see many kishoredians using BBM on HF ... nobody is bothered how much expensive its for Nimii and myself to run these sites. Most of them are bothered bout their comforts. Well.. nothing to blame.. I think thatz just life. kuch bhi nahin hai tera mol, boli na badi bol, khilona tu maati ka...

- all i suggested was to keep the thread smaller - so others can join in- or have a monthly closure - having a different theme every month. regards cinemaniac2 |

I understand your predicament. I also remember all the people downloading songs when we used to be on Yahoo Groups. I was one of them. Didn't participate, but did download those mp3s. I remember you removing the users who had turned off the email option on Yahoo Groups. Anyway, now since this huge move forward to HF ... I've tried to participate, in whatever way I can. My intention or aim in replying to cinemaniac2 was simply that going back wasn't an option. As you yourself had stated when HF users complained about having to come online and then reply to topics. They found it all a little too hard and difficult to follow this new format, compared to the simple send email/receive email procedure from yahoo groups. Sincerest apologies if my funny and harmless comment hurt you. Its actually sad to hear about people not delivering on what they promised, and that too by Rafians. I can't really feel the financial brunt that you or Nimii might be feeling, but I sure can lessen it. I'll contact you privately for that. This group is quite young. Give it something, rather than expecting from it. As far as I am concerned, i like this group than yahoo. We have many more options here, i am enjoying it very much.
