Hamara Forums _ S.N. Tripathi _ Films Of The '60s - Chandramukhi (1960)

Posted by: Harishankar Oct 11 2008, 10:38 AM

Bhatkande College of Music alumnus Shri Nath Tripathi remains a stand-out composer's composer who, like Hansraj Bahl, never got his due, being stuck in one constume drama/mythological after another. Whatever the character of the film, however, S N Tripathi's music remained memorable. Hear, for example, Lata's "Nainon se nainon ki baat huyi", Mukesh's unforgettable "Nain ka chain churaakar le gayi" or the duet of these two stalwart singers from 'Chandramukhi', "Tera man mera man mile preet yoon khile" - are these not compositions at par with the best compositions of the best composers in the field?

[attachmentid=238561] (Geeta/Rafi) (2.57/128)

[attachmentid=238563] (Lata/Mukesh) (3.05/128)

[attachmentid=238564] (Manna Dey) (3.15/128)

[attachmentid=238565] (Mukesh) (3.08/192)

[attachmentid=238566] (Lata) (3.15/128)

Any contributors for these other 'Chandramukhi' numbers?

(1) Madhur preet sangeet ... Aaj rituon ka raja aaya - Suman & Rafi
(2) Bas gayi hai aankhon mein - Suman & Mukesh
(3) Chandni jhilmil kare taaron bhari yeh raat hai - Lata & Sudha Malhotra
