The movie won two Filmfare awards - Sanjeev Kumar got for best actor and Critics award for best film for
Gulzar. The songs of Aandhi continue to charm everyone to this day. Iss mod se jaate hai, Tere bina
zindagi se and Tum aagaye ho noor aagaya are classics and well picturised. The dialogue inclusion in the
songs is another noteable feature that have made them special in every way.

One of the best scores of that era. Best part is the melody still touches hearts even now. Very soulful music.
Yes, this movie did run into issues with Gandhi family. Another one that hogged lime light for somewhat identical reasons was the movie called "kissa kursi ka"

I still can't figure out why they put a stop on this movie. Very little resemblance was noticed between the protagonist and Mrs. Gandhi.

Look wise - Aarti had White streaks. Essence wise – Rehman, Father of aarti wanted her to have career in politics. He was very much in driving seat.

Also the fact that Mrs Gandhi went into politics against the wishes of her family (husband) and also the way she was portrayed as a scheming and shrewd woman.

I remember back then after this movie there was a rumor that Mrs. Gandhi had "Plastic ka naak or nakli naak". This was in reference to a scene where she is stoned by crowd.

About the Producer-Director - Harsh Kohli

Harsh Kohli returns to filmmaking
By Manisha Deshpande, Bollywood Trade News Bureau

PurabVeteran film-maker Hersh Kohli who is best remembered for his films like AAP KI KHATIR, LOVE IN GOA and AANGAN KI KALI, is all set to return to film-making after a gap of 20 years with a murder mystery, KAUN HO SAKTA HAI. The film, which has a record number of 14 characters, has been made with an entirely new cast with Kohli's son, Purab who was last seen in MY BROTHER NIKHIL, playing the central character.
"I deliberately opted for a new cast since I did not want the image of any star to dilute the impact of the narrative. It only seemed ideal to shoot the film with newcomers and allow the story to be the hero of the film," Kohli explains, adding that one of the reasons that prompted him to take the break from his demanding hotel business and make the film, was the increasing influence of the multiplex culture which promoted an all-new genre of films with newcomers. "I was exploring the idea of making such a film for some time but the time did not seem right to make a film with newcomers. The acceptability of a new genre of films and the booming multiplex culture prompted me to act on the idea. My son, Purab, supported me in my endeavor and that's how the film happened," Kohli recalls.

The USP of the film according to Kohli is its riveting story line and Bappi Lahiri's foot-tapping musical score. It may be recalled that Kohli was among the earliest producers to give Bappi-da the big break in his career in AAP KI KHATIR. "It was like nostalgia revived when I met him after all these years. Bappi-da was more than happy to compose music for the film," Kohli recalls. However Kohli points out that Bappi Lahiri has composed a completely different score for the film. "Bappi-da has composed six songs for the film and they will probably be remembered the best in his career so far and one of them 'Yeh Nadiyaan' sung by Sonu Nigam, leaves an indelible impression on your mind," Kohli informs.

Send My Brother...Nikhil EcardsKohli describes the film as an intriguing, edge-of-the-seat thriller with an undercurrent of comedy that keeps you guessing about the identity of the killer till the very end. What was however more intriguing was Kohli's decision to keep the identity of the killer a tight secret throughout the shooting of the film. "The artistes in the film were also left guessing throughout the film about the killer's identity. I chose to keep it that way because it kept the excitement going," smiles the veteran filmmaker, who remembers having a ball with the entire cast of the film.

The film is complete and ready for release and Kohli is looking at an August release for the film.
