Rocky (1981)

Here is another nice album from R.D. Burman. Sanjay Dutt made his debut with this movie. It was made by his father Sunil Dutt who not only produced it but also directed it. He also made a brief appearance in the movie.

Naseeb (1981)

Manmohan Desai was able to successfully use the same formula that clicked with his earlier movie "Amar Akbar Anthony". Shammi Kapoor made a brief appearance along with many other stars in the song "John Jaani Janardhan" which was sung beautifully by Rafi Saab.

I will post all of the songs in two separate postings, one immediately after another. Here are the first three songs of this movie ...

Desh Premee (1982)

Here is another winner rom Manmohan Desai even though movie was mediocre at best. Yet it boasts some very good songs. Even though all these songs came from a CD, Rafi's song "Mere Desh Premiyo" has uneven tonal quality even though overall it is not bad. Also, I'm not sure to whom the male voice belongs to in the duet "Gore Nahin"". May be somewone can help throw some light on it.

The male voice is of " Laxmikant" of Laxmikant-Pyarelal. One of the few songs he has sung.
