Very intersting thread that unfortunatley I am not able to keep with
as much as I would like to. I am looking for an extended version song
from Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hey. The song " Aa ab laut chale "
had another verse to it in the original release of the movie. The verse
was some thing like.. " jis mitte ne janam diya ...." I have not found
the verse in the current VHS/DVD versions of the movie. I was told that
the verse was also there when the song was played on the radio those
days so I suspect some of the LP's may the long version of the song.

I have heard Dr Kamlesh Avasthi sing this verse in his stage shows.

Hope some one has Mukeshji vesrion of original song.

I tried to insert the thirs verse in the film version (it has only two verses), but the result is totally unsatisfactory (different pitch/speed/etc. No luck even after altering the some of these attributes) Perhaps, the file with you have can be uploaded as suggested earlier and I can try again.

I second this request of Ramesh Desai. The missing antara from the song Aa Ab Laut Chalen is as follows:

I would appreciate if someone having all the three antaras of the song together can upload the song.

Whether this verse was recorded or not is a question that is difficult to answer. It is not there in the film. Many times these left out verses used to be included in the song booklets, which were common in those days. For 'teri zulpho.n se judaai to nahi maa.ngi thi' - Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai, Hasrat Jaipuri had written 5 to 6 verses (all were included in the film's song booklet), but only 2 or 3 were included in the film. Similarly, there is a second verse for 'poochho naa hamei.n ham u.nke liye' - Mitti Mein Seona. Here again, the question still remains, whether it was actually recorded. Only if someone could get hold of the film and see if it was so.

Let me assure you that the antara referred above by me was recorded and I have heard it many times as a child on Radio Ceylon. It is etched in my memory. On the other hand, the antara Ankh Hamari Manzil Par Hai did not use to be played on Radio during those days and in fact I heard it first time after growing up.

A friend of mine in US has the antara required by all of us. He has in fact sent it to me by way of a Pando file. Unfortunately I could not download and open this 35.3 MB file. I have requested him to send it to me over a CD which I hope to get in second week of July. I shall upload it on HF as soon as I receive it.

I can now confirm that after decades I have again heard Aa Ab Laut Chalen with the elusive verse, "Jis Mitti Ne Janam Diya Hai ---------------", thanks to my friend in US who is a connoissure of vintage music and has a nice collection. This is the 78 RPM version of the song which used to be played on Radio Ceylon in the days gone by. As mentioned earlier, it has two verses, "Jis Mitti Ne Janam Diya Hai and Sahaj Hai Seedhi Raah Pe Chalna", and does not have the third verse, "Aankh Hamari Manzil Par Hai --------------". Despite having been digitalised from 78 RPM record, it is crystal clear. Unfortunately the song being a Pando file of 35.3 MB, I am unable to upload here but I am happy to send to send to you over the email. Perhaps you can attempt to combine the first verse with the rest two from the film soundtrack, make one song with all the three verses and upload it in this thread which would be the most appropriate one for the song.

Well thanks to Rushin the members can litsen to the elusive verse, Jis Mitti ne Janam Diya. This version ends abruptly with the interlude between the second (Sahaj hai seedhi Raah pe Chalna)and third verse (Ankh Hamari Manzil Par Hai). It seems that this version may actually comprise of all the three verses together. If not it would be much easier to add third verse to this version. I hope some of the members who are experts at musicmatch can do the needful.

Million thanks Sukesh Ji. Excellent rare upload indeed, these are unreleased versions only available in movie, saw on VHS a decade back and was hunting for it since long time without much success.
Specially the Jhan jhan payal baje extended version is a real treat.
