Rajkumari ji is known to the HFM fans for her sweet songs from Mahal and Baware Nain 14) Rajkumari : Kis paapi sang uljhi akhiyaaN (Suhaag raat) Film : Suhag Raat MD : Snehal Bhatkar Year : 1948 Lyrics : Kidar Sharma Time/KBPS : 04.13/160 KBPS This post has been edited by parag_sankla: Apr 26 2008, 03:41 AM Attached image(s) Please visit www.geetadutt.com

Parag,
Excellent presentation, apart from the songs uploaded, it is a pleasure to just look at this thread. A suggestion, in case you have that information, it would be nice to include the total number of duets she sang with each partner... "This isn't right, this isn't even wrong." I did not check the bit-rates of the files uploaded and in the process some 64 KBPS and some 192 KBPS files have been uploaded by mistake. Since I am at work at this moment, it is not possible for me to correct the same. I kindly request Admin to give me time till today late evening so that I can correct the same. I hope all the generous members will forgive me for this. Thanks in advance Parag The required corrections to the files has been completed. Please visit www.geetadutt.com

16 more songs are on the way in this thread. To complete this garland of flowers I will be uploading the last duet (number 30) in the divine voices of Rafi saab and Geeta ji.

16) Suman Kalyanpur : Phulawa Bund mehake (Hum bhi insaan hain)
Geetaji has sung a few duets with Suman ji. Unfortunately, all the other songs are rare and difficult to trace. It would be great help if some one can share these songs. Here is the thread for these songs : http://www.hamaraforums.com/index.php?showtopic=27792 For now, let us hear this sweet rendering by Geetaji and Suman ji Film - Hum bhi insaan hain Year - 1959 Lyricist(s) - S H Bihari Musician(s) - Hemant Kumar Duration - 3.18 mins Bitrate - 192 kbps Format - mp3 This post has been edited by parag_sankla: Apr 26 2008, 03:51 AM Attached image(s) Please visit www.geetadutt.com

17) Surendra : Bulbul ko mila phool (Kamal)
Surendra was promoted as a singing star in the era of late Kundan la Saighal sab. He did meet with some success in the late forties, but with strong emergence of playback singers like Rafi saab, it was difficult to hold the fort. Geetaji has sung a few duets with Surendra ji in the 1950 movie Kamal and in a few more movies. Film - Kamal Year - 1950 Lyricist(s) - Sahir Musician(s) - S D Burman Duration - 2.55 mins Bitrate - 128 kbps Format - WMA This post has been edited by parag_sankla: Apr 26 2008, 03:55 AM Attached image(s) Please visit www.geetadutt.com

18) Ashok kumar : Sapera been bajayo re (Padmini)
In late forties, the playback singing was gaining strong holds, still some of the heroes did sing a few songs. This is probably (?) the only duet Geeta ji has sung with dadamoni Ashok Kumar ji. The music was composed by the legendary MD Ghulam Haider sab. In my opinion, Geeta ji got to work with most of the legendary composers in late forties and early fifties. Film - Padmini Year - 1948 Lyricist(s) - Wali Saheb Musician(s) - Ghulam Haider Duration - 2.46 mins Bitrate - 160 kbps Format - mp3 This post has been edited by parag_sankla: Apr 26 2008, 03:57 AM Attached image(s) Please visit www.geetadutt.com

19) Khayyam : Dil youn youn karata hain (Heer Ranjha)
Geeta ji did work with Khayyam saab in his early days. Khayyam sab used to use the name "Sharmaji" as composer in some of the movies. She has even sung a few duets with him apart from singing under his baton. The duet presented here is a very sweet one from the movie Heer-ranjha. Film - Heer Ranjha Year - 1948 Lyricist(s) - ? Musician(s) - Khaiyyam Duration - 3.03 mins Bitrate - 192 kbps Format - mp3 This post has been edited by parag_sankla: Apr 26 2008, 04:02 AM Attached image(s) Please visit www.geetadutt.com

20) C Ramchandra : Haseena sambhal sambhal ke chal (Saqi)
Here is another composer who did some work with Geeta ji in the late forties and early fifties. Geeta ji also sang a few lovely duets for CR in the movie Shabistan. The duet presented here is a fun-filled song from the film Saqi. Film - Saqi Year - 1950 Lyricist(s) - Rajender Krishan Musician(s) - C Ramachandra Duration - 2.52 mins Bitrate - 128kbps Format - mp3 This post has been edited by parag_sankla: Apr 26 2008, 04:04 AM Attached image(s) Please visit www.geetadutt.com
