It would be interesting to know if "Geet Kosh" lists this as one song or two songs. It starts off with "I Love You" portion in the voice of Geeta-ji, then switches to "Gorey Gorey Haathon Mein' in Asha-ji's voice. I could make out Asha's voice in the I Love You portion, and Geeta's voice in the middle of the Gorey Gorey Hathon portion, so they are both duets really. I can't remember the movie itself now, but the first part seems to be some kind of a drama-show with Geeta singing for the guy and Asha for the girl (the Angrezi-Bhartiya theme also heard in the Jodi Hamari song from Aulaad). It then continues almost without a break into the 2nd part. At least Earthmusic lists both songs separately, both as Asha-Geeta duets. Would be interesting to hear more about this from someone who remembers the movie itself. |

The print is not crisp, but here's the video-clip in Real Media: Thanks Unni sahab for the video clip - it seemed one continuous song to me. As I had thought, the song was done at some kind of show for an audience, with two actresses doing the roles of guy as well as girl. I think Nirupa Roy was the sari-clad one with Asha's voice, but who was Geeta Dutt singing for? Chand Usmani perhaps? |

Wish I could also upload the lovely video sequence beautifully acted out by Madhubala. But the darn DVD was encrypted! ![]() Here it is, the video-clip! If you stop trying to make sense of it all, you'll be less confused. Reality is an illusion.

Even though not rare, Shrimati songs seem to be hard to come by. Thanks, Jay |
