Kanhaiya (1959)

Here is a movie that seems to have all the right ingredients mixed in it; great actors, beautiful music, very popular songs. Yet the movie was only a modest success, that too to put it kindly. Both Lata and Mukesh have some great songs to the beautiful music given by Shankar & Jaikishan. My favorite in the movie is the solos by Mukesh "Mujhe Mere Haal Pe Chhod Do". It was done with so much melancholy that its sadness takes a toll on your heart.

This movie was directed by the character actor-comedian Om Prakash for hi brother Pachchi. All songs in this movie are from a CD except the one long version of the song. This one is by the courtesy of the Forum members. Now for details of the songs and the songs themselves (first installment) ...

Main Nashe Mein Hoon (1969)

This is the third movie in which Raj starred with Mala Sinha (the other two being Parvarish and Phir Subah Hogi). As usual Shankar & Jaikishan come up with some beautiful songs. All three solos by Mukesh are just great. Also the solo by Lata "Sajan Sang". There are nine songs in this album. I also have another song by Lata singing "Yeh Na Thi Hamari Qismat". I have listed this under this movie but this is debatable. This has been a popular song and many singers have performed this.

Because of the number of songs, I will be uploading in two installments one following another. Here are the details of the first six songs from this album ...

One more album to be added to the Raj Kapoor's movie list - Khedan De Din Chaar 1962, MD - Hansraj Behl.
He had a guest appearance in this movie. Unfortunately the VCD I have is of bad quality. sad.gif Otherwise I would have uploaded the songs.

Chhalia (1960)

Here is another Nutan-Raj Kapoor starrer. Inspite of some beautiful songs this movie was a commercial failure. This was a maiden directorial venture for Manmohan Desai. He proved to be a man with midas touch afer this one failure before he finally lost that touch in the end.
