There are countless non-filmi songs that have lyricist name embedded in the song that they wrote.

So far I have only found 3 songs in the filmi variety.

2 by majrooh and 1 by Sahir.

probably Sahir's is really meant to be magician instead
of his name but none the less it is there.

So the question is are there any more songs in filmi side.

I know about "ham hai.n mataa-e-kuuchaa-o-baazaar kii tarah"; which is the other Majrooh song? I can't think of a Sahir song that has the word "saahir" in it - which one is it?

Do Ghalib and Meera count for their songs used in the films named for them?

And if the name of the poet being used as a word anywhere in the song is okay with you, that should make it simple: I am sure some hunting will produce songs where Hasrat Jaipuri has used "hasarat", Anand Bakshi has used "aanand", just as Rajinder Krishan has used "kR^iShNa"...smile1.gif

Warm regards,
Abhay

Gahlib and Meera is fine as long it is from movie.
On second thought, may be we should leave them from this list
because I have already found three meera bai songs so
they could be a lot of them.

The Mujrooh's song is from Mujrim (1958).
and Sahir's is from Kaajal (1965).

Let's just stick with first name as far as Rajinder is concerned.

Santosh Anand in JUNOON & SANTOSH!

woman is the mirror in which man sees the reflection of his own self, his own dormant and hidden powers of genius when she comes and stands before him
A woman is a meaning to life ! Someone who loves, who cares !

Where in this song is the word "saahir"?? Here are the words (courtesy giitaayan.com).

aap ke bhiige hue jisam se aa.Nch aatii hai

Word 'Shayar' in Sahir's poem:

Chaudhvinka Chand (1960)

Girl Friend (1960)

Pyaasa (1957)

Kabhi Kabhi (1976)

Bhai Bhai (1970)

Word 'Rajaji' in Raja Mehdi Ali Khan poem:
Dulhan Ek Raat Ki (1966)

Exon

Exon,

Chaudveen Ka Chand was written by Shakeel.
and Bhai Bhai was written by Hasrat.
So that would not meed the criteria.

Anyway, Sahir means magician not poet. So I have
made the correction above.

Slightly off topic : Punjbi song writers not only use their names but also include their village names sometimes ! I think they do it lot more times then hindi song writers !!

for eg Gurdaas maan : adds " marjaane maana" in songs written by him
same is case of all lyricists.

forgive me if I miss replying or reading ur post............bit busy :-( !
