In vocal style Zohrabai Ambalewali was a frontrunner to Shamshad Begum and used quite frequently and to very good effect by Naushad Ali in the 1940s. Here are ten Zohrabai songs from her most active 6-7 years in the film industry. I've tried to keep the Naushad's to a minimum so I can add them in a separate Naushad 40's post but as you can see 4 of the 10 songs are still Naushad!

Additions and comments are welcome.

Thanks Gents!

Naushad 40s is 'up and running'!

You may also want to check out my recent uploads (two large audio files) on the Saigal forum. Naushad reminisces about Saigal and its really quite a touching remembrance. One giant speaking so fondly of another...very sad at the same time though....
