Song: Chand Ko Gale Se Lagaye
Singer: Amirbai Karnatki Film: Keemat (1946) Music: Naushad Ali Format : mp3, 128 kbps ; Duration : 2.45 ............................................................ My favourite from Keemat. The singer is Nasim Akhtar and not Amirbai Kanatki. FWIW..... Ek Din Ka Sultan The movie sound track has songs by Shamshad Begum but the corrosponding songs on 78rpms were issued in the voice of Amirbai Karnatki. ABK leads a korus in Elan: insaan ki tehzeeb pe ehsaan hamaaraa .. one of her best renditions. Kamla 40s has her 3/4 great renditions ei 'waadaa wafaa kar ke kisi ne bhulaa diya' -urzung khan |

My favourite from Keemat is actually Humse Khush Hai Zamana which I now believe is also sung by Naseem Akhtar and not Amirbai. I can easily differentiate the voices of male singers but have more than a few blind spots where female vocalists are concerned. Would you have the Elaan chorus rendition and Kamla songs and could you upload them here for us? Would appreciate that a lot. Kind Regards Faraaj p.s. I'll be visiting Pakistan this December and plan to take out a morning or afternoon to search the bazaar for Roshanara's Dole Re Man Haule Haule which is still eluding me! You made it out right... ham se khush hai.. ia also by Nasim A. I think .. dole re man hole hole.. was posted by somebody in HF... may be around 2 years back. Search and if traced out.. make a request for reuploading. This song was recorded twice.. once in pre47 days and again in early 60s in Pakistan. -urzung khan |

Faraaj ji
You are putting up lots of interesting threads lately. I am impressed. I had made a similar thread earlier in the past here: http://www.hamaraforums.com/index.php?showtopic=54816 Songs may have expired but I shall be glad to upload if you need any of them. Amirbai is really a special singer. It would be nice if somebody can upload her songs in gujrati and other languages to which she migrated in 50s till her sad death in 1965 (or is it 1967?). This post has been edited by hildebrand: Nov 28 2008, 05:31 PM Best Regards
Hildebrand Samandar ko Baandhe Aisa Koi Ghaat Nahi, Kadmon ko thaame aisi koi baat nahin Patli si dhaara samundar mein milti hai, milkar ke kho jaati hai, ghaat ghaat hi rehte hain woh samundar ho jaati hai, karlo jo chaaho, banlo jo chaaho “Geet boodhe nahin hote, unke chehron pe jhurriyan nahi girti wo palte rahte hain, chalte rahte hain sun-ne walo ki umra badal jaati hai….” Please Visit http://www.anmolfankaar.com: A website dedicated to Artists of the Indian Subcontinent. Thanks Hildebrand I have some very nice songs of Amirbai which I uploaded on this thread but couldn't remember the originating source. I can now - it was you!!! I think I thanked you a few months back but do so again.... the amazing thing is that I just checked the link and the songs you uploaded are all still there nearly seven months later. I only uploaded a limited selection (personal favourites) of the several dozen songs you uploaded. Interested members really should go to your original topic and download the missing ones.
