Hello All

I can't find Begum Khursheed's great film songs of the 1940s (many composed by the great Khemchand Prakash) anywhere on the net. The only one I have with a decent bitrate is uploaded here:

Film: Moorti (1945)
Singer: Khursheed Begum, Mukesh
Song: Badaria Baras Gayi
Bit Rate: 204kbps
Length: 3m 30s

I'd appreciate if any members having the below well known Khursheed songs could upload them:

Pehle Jo Mohabbat Se Inkaar - Pardesi (1941)
Nainon Se Naina Mila Ke - Beti (1941)
Jis Jogi Ka - Bhakt Surdas (1942) duet with K L Saigal
Panchi Bawra - Bhakt Surdas (1942)
Dukhiya Jiyara Rotay Naina - Tansen (1943)
Ghata Ghanghor - Tansen (1943)
Dil Ki Dharkan Bana Liya - Mumtaz Mahal (1944)
Dil Lagane Mein Kuch Mazaa Hee Nahin - Babar (1944)
Bulbul Aa Tu Bhi Gaa Pyar Ke Gaane - Babar (1944)

These are some of her best and most well-known songs. If I have missed/never heard any other of her greats and you have it, it would be nice to sample that as well.

Kind Regards
Faraaj

I live in Australia and unfortunately the local desi store (about 40 km away!!) aren't stocked for my musical tastes. They lean towards the Bhangra and Digital Jhankar crowd!!!!!!!

If a CD is released, it generally ends up on the internet for purchase almost immediately. Thats not the case with oldies like Khursheed or Akhtari Bai. Trust me, I've researched the net for hours on end.

Many websites just don't legally allow cross-border downloads. I think this has more to do with strict Australian laws. Queries to Saregama and other musical companies from Australia don't even elicit a response!

That is why I'm forced to request other song lovers like yourselves for assistance. rolleyes.gif
