 Manas Mukherjee - Music director has composed quite a few albums in Hindi. A renowed bengali music director, also the parent of two well known singers, Shaan and Sagarika. He passed away in the year 1986. His filmography - Hindi films 1. Shaayad - 1979 2. Labbaik - 1980 3. Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyon Aata Hai - 1981 4 Guru Suleman Chela Pahelwan - 1981 5.  Lakhon ki baat 1984 Producer - Basu Chatterjee Director - Basu Chatterjee Music - Manas Mukherjee Lyrics - Yogesh Gaud Genre - Comedy  Starring - Sanjeev Kumar, Farooque Sheikh, Anita Raj, Javed Khan, Anjali Sen. Story - Freelance photographer, Alok Prakash, while photographing a woman's hockey players in action, is hit by the puck, loses his senses and his hospitalized. His brother-in-law, a lawyer by the name of Prem Sagar, decides to capitalize on this accident, and to sue Alok's employer for a large sum of money, so that they can live comfortably for the rest of their lives. He explains his plan to Alok, and asks the rest of the family also to go on with this charade - with hilarious results - that will change their lives forever. Mahananda 1984 --- music by Manas Mukherjee --- lyrics by 4 lyricists.
 Yogesh, Nida Fazli, Kapil Kumar and Indrajeet Hasanpuri.Starring -- Farooque Sheikh and Moushami Chatterjee. An offbeat NFDC film, which is probably a remake of the marathi movie of the same name. The theme involves a city bred boy who falls in love with a devadasi girl, but unable to marry her, as it is against the tradition. The movie ends with a partly positive note, with a daughter born to them out of wedlock being taken back with the father to live a life away from the tradition but by masking the truth about her birth.  (note --- I am unable to figure out between the two male voices in the songs. So if there are any corrections to be made based on how sure your info is, please do post it. The problem is that they are post 70s albums and I do not have the GK to refer. I will get after Erum and get the details. I have a couple of songs, but they are probably singles from a couple of albums - Lubna and Naghma - (the second one seems to be a non-film album). |
