You are welcome Hari Ji.
Thank you for going through all the trouble of updating the list. It is a great help.

Hari Ji, I watched the whole movie (Taj Mahal). But did not find the antara you had mentioned. I even looked for it in the LP and Audio Cassettes from my Dad's collection. It is not even there.

Thank you for taking all the trouble in going through your audio collections.
My information about that extra stanza in 'jo vaada kiya..' song must be wrong.
If you have Anarkali video, would you check and see if there are two versions to 'yeh zindagi usee ki hai...' song?

C.I.D (1956): ho leke pehla pehla pyar (Shamshad Begum- Mohd. Rafi \ Asha, Shamshad, Rafi)

I haven't seen the film, or if I have I don't remember it now. I have seen both the songs. The Shamshad Begum Rafi duet perhaps comes first in the movie - the happier times. And then the Asha solo picturised on an unhappy heroine with the Shamshad Rafi verses accompanying her memories of the earlier happier times. However this comprehensive version that I have has the Asha verses first and the others later. It was probably recorded like this for the audio version?

leke pahalaa pahalaa pyaar
bharake aa.Nkho.n mai.n khumaar
jaaduu nagarI se aayaa hai koI jaaduugar
leke pahalaa pahalaa pyaar ...

usakii dIvaanii haay kahuu.n kaise ho gaI
jaaduugar chalaa gayaa mai.n to yahaa.n kho gaI
nainaa jaise hue chaar
gayaa dil kA qaraar
jaaduu nagarI se AyA hai koI jaaduugar
leke pahalaa pahalaa pyaar ...

tumane to dekhaa hogaa usako sitaaro.n
aao zaraa mere sa.ng milake pukaaro
dono hoke beqaraar
Dhuu.NDhe tujhako meraa pyaar
jaaduu nagarI se AyA hai koI jaaduugar
leke pahalaa pahalaa pyaar ...

jab se lagaayaa tere pyaar kA kaajal
kaalii kaalii birahaa kii ratiyaa.n hai.n bekal
aajaa man ke shrR^i.ngaar
kare bindiyaa pukaar
jaaduu nagarI se AyA hai koI jaaduugar
leke pahalaa pahalaa pyar ...

mukha.De pe Daale hue zulfo.n kii badalii
chalii balakhaatii kahaa.n ruk jaa o pagalii
naino.n vaalii tere dvaar
leke sapane hazaar
jaaduu nagarI se AyA hai koI jaaduugar

bachanaa hai mushkil piyaa jaaduugar se

Talaikya,

Thank you for the careful observation.
I didn't know this was a composite of two tandem songs.

The song does come twice in the movie. Once somewhere in the begining ( a happy version) and then towards the end when Anarkali is being burried alive. I have the two versions in the cd . I'll upload them.

Shishma behan,

Thank you very much for these two versions of the Anarkali song. I have a combined audio.
The song sounds so much better when listened separately. Lata's voice is also very sweet in this song.
A minor note: I think, the audio files got interchanged between happy (3.14mb; 3:29min) and sad (4:01mb; 4:27min).

Shish ji thanks for that information, it helps the rest of us with uploads/ downloads. I really appreciate it.
Maybe an angel can let the rest of us know how this one compares. It should be Part II. It's digitised from a recorded TV program, definitely compares very favorably (I just d/l Shish ji's Part 3 and heard it).

Taj Mahal '63 - Jo Waada Kiya Woh Part 2 - Lata, Rafi, Roshan, Sahir - 2.21, 128

Also if you're recording from streaming audio, maybe you can keep it at a lower bit rate, because it doesn't improve the quality and just bloats the file.

Talaikya Ji,

Usually, when I am recording from a streaming Video, it is either a DVD or VCD directly playing on the Laptop. But I did not get the DVD or VCD of Taj Mahal. So I had to play a very old(20 yrs atleast) video cassette and connect my laptop to the tv and record this version. As the cassatte was old and the audio had to pass through many channels, the quality of the audio dropped.
And I had recorded in on 64 Kbps. But we cannot upload this low bit rate, so I had converted the file.

Thank you for giving me the tips for recording. It will surely be handy for further recordings.

Thank you.

Shishma.

Hari Ram,

Thank you.
I have corrected my mistake. It was indeed the other way round!!!! My absent mindedness is becoming very obvious.

Shishma. (Just "Shishma" was fine).

Shishma ji,

Far be it for me to give recording tips smile.gif (Jaadugar ji would probably jump down my throat in mild exasperation for being modest, if he were reading this biggrin.gif), I'd look up Deewani/Azgar Khan's (just a couple of people that come to mind immediately) tips for all that awesome stuff at Computing and Technology. I did try to quickly find a few threads to point you to (just in case you were really interested) but... I got lost biggrin.gif I am sure you'll be able to search at liesure, if you are so inclined.

Yeah I know the upload rules are a bit impractical especially in such cases, but I guess there is never any fool proof solution.

Thank you for not taking my head off, seems people take offence at the slightest reason sometimes and I was a bit concerned you'd get upset. Much as I decide to, I just can't seem to keep shut but let me assure you I meant it all on the up and up.

Take care now.
