Hello K-A Fans, Welcome to the Kalyanji Anandji forum, a tribute to one of the greatest music director pairs in Indian Cinema. This duo churned out excellent music and many of their songs are remembered to this day. They made excellent use of a variety of singers and most of the singers of their era have had a good amount of hits under K-A. After starting out with a strong influence of S-J in their music, they evolved their own style, and always paid attention to melody in each of their tunes. K-A changed with the times and consistently gave good music right throughout their career. I have with me a CD entitled Kalyanji Anandji - The Golden Collection, and I will be uploading 18 tracks from it. Hope you all enjoy !! Here is the first track: Chahe Paas Ho Chahe Door Ho - Lata Mangeshkar & Mohd. Rafi (Samraat Chandragupt/1958) hiya, after r.d.burman & l-p. kalyandji- anandji are my favourites. i think they are the most under-rated music directors ever. eg- take the year 1978- they produced: DON. (chandra barot) GANGA KI SAUGANDH. (sultan ahmed) MUQADDAR KA SIKANDAR. (prakash mehra)- WHICH BROKE ALL PREVIOUS IN QUICK TIME. three examples of outstanding sound tracks & amazingly in the same 12 months. in particular their combination with... prakash mehra - anjaan & indivar was legendry. Everything prakash mehra / k-a & amitabh bachchan touched together turned into gold: ZANJEER (1973) HERA PHERI (1976) KHOON PASINA (1977) MUQADDAR KA SIKANDAR (1978) & LAWAARIS(1981). (note- the prakash mehra / k-a & amitabh bachchan combination / partnership was sadly broken 1981- bapphi lahiri replaced k-a for prakash mehra in 'NAMAK HALAAL 1982 & SHARAABI 1984 both were super-hit musical scores.) kalyandji-anandji did team back up with prakash mehra again one last time for their first & only flop as a team 'JAADUGAR'. prakash mehra / k-a / amitabh bachchan - wow what a track record as a team- almost very hard to believe, next to perfection!!! kalyandj-anandji's work with kishore da & asha in their later years also stands out too as remarkeable. they officially retired in the early 80s but... luckily for us fans they returned many times right up until the early 90s. great topic once again all the best. Bash. Tumse milkar na jane kyon aur bhi kuch yaad aata hai...

Thank you Lakshmi for all your wonderful uploads. I did not have quite a few songs from Raaz and Ji Chahta Hai. I agree with "Bash" that Kalyanji Anandji are underrated and ironically so (at least in my opinion) because of their tremendous popularity in the Seventies and Eighties. Personally I enjoy their early albums much more, but they were also extremely innovative and developed and incorporated many influences in their music. They also consistently used new voices in their albums, the three beautiful Rafi_Suman duets of Jee Chahta Hai are very pleasant.
