(Mumtaz) Tere Mere Sapne (1971)
Here is another memorable musical score from Burmanda. Each song is just an absolute beauty. When it comes to melody Burmanda is always up there on the top of the charts. Burmanda was assisted in this film by his wife Meeraji. She was a singer as well as a musician. She served as an assistant music director for Burmanda in seven of his films, all in 70’s, when Bermuda was ailing. This movie is based on A.J. Cronin’s “Citadel” novel and the actor and director Vijay Anand treats the subject with lots of care combining entertainment with moral dilemmas. It was remade into Bengali in 1972 as “Jiban Saikate” and in Telugu as "Madhura Swapnam" in 1982. I am uploading songs from this film from an original soundtrack album in two back-to-back posts.
