Part 2 of Aamne Saamne

Best Regards
Hildebrand

Samandar ko Baandhe Aisa Koi Ghaat Nahi, Kadmon ko thaame aisi koi baat nahin Patli si dhaara samundar mein milti hai, milkar ke kho jaati hai, ghaat ghaat hi rehte hain woh samundar ho jaati hai, karlo jo chaaho, banlo jo chaaho

“Geet boodhe nahin hote, unke chehron pe jhurriyan nahi girti
wo palte rahte hain, chalte rahte hain
sun-ne walo ki umra badal jaati hai….”

Next Upload Anamika (1973)

Director: Raghunath Jhalani
Writers: Shashi Bhushan (screenplay)
Madan Joshi (dialogue)

Cast
Sanjeev Kumar ... Devendra Dutt
Jaya Bhaduri ... Anamika / Kanchan / Archana
Iftekhar ... Dr. Irshad Husain
G. Asrani ... Hanuman Singh (as Asrani)
A.K. Hangal ... Shiv Prasad

Plot:
After being betrayed by the love of his life, who preferred getting married to another male settled in the USA, an embittered and heart-broken Devendra Dutt, author by profession, prefers to stay single. Then one day while driving home, he, his uncle, Shiv Prasad, and his secretary, Hanuman, come across a woman who was thrown out of a car. They find out that she is wounded, and take her home, and let her be examined by their family doctor, Irshad Hussain. The next day, the woman wakes up and claims that she is Devendra's wife. Perplexed and angered at this intrusion, Devendra would like her to leave immediately, but his uncle and Dr. Hussain persuade him to let her stay for a few days more. Shortly thereafter, an attempt is made to abduct this woman, and Devendra comes to her rescue, and subsequently falls in love with her, while she continues to believe that she is his wife. Then several incidents lead Devendra to believe that this woman, who he now calls Anamika, is really a prostitute by the name of Kanchan. Before he could confront her with this information, she disappears from his life. Will Devendra be able to find out the truth behind Anamika or Kanchan? Did Anamika really lose her memory or was all an act to ensnare Devendra?

The movie has lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri. It is said that after watching the movie R.D. said that movie was so good. he wished he had given better music. We'll never know what he could have produced better than this. All the songs are very good. Of the five songs jaoon to kahan is average but out of the other four each is good and remembered to this day. It even has the rare sensuous lata song baahon mein chale aao which was even remixed in the recent past.
Enjoy the songs.
Details are as per image attached and ID tags.

Anand Aur Anand (1984)

This is a 1984 movie made by Dev Anand sahab to launch his and kalpana karthik (Mona)'s son Sunil Anand. Both starred in this movie so called Anand Aur Anand! R.D. Burman was the MD for this movie whose lyricist was Anjaan sahab. (From CBS label)

Suneil Anand ... Varun Anand
Raj Babbar ... Pratap Singh, Union Leader
Rakhee Gulzar ... Mrs. Arun Anand

Arun does not want a scandal to upset his wife, so he asks an impotent union leader, Pratap Singh, to marry Kiran, sire the child, and then divorce her, all for a hefty sum of money. Pratap agrees to this arrangement, and soon a boy is born. Pratap then changes his mind about divorcing Kiran, as her son is proof of his virility and manhood, and as such disappears from Arun's life. Years later Kiran's son has grown up and named Varun Singh. Arun finally finds out about them and meets them, but is rejected by Varun, who has come to accept Pratap as his father. There is a confrontation between Pratap and his employer, Thakur, and as a result, Varun is abducted, tied to a tree with four wild elephants who are made to drink alcohol, and after which will go on a drunken and virtually unstoppable rampage - starting with the gory death of the person nearest to them - Varun.

Songs of the movie are as per the images attached and ID tags. This movie also has Peenaz Masani singing a song for him. Other than regulars Asha and Kishore, Abhijeet also gets songs to sing.

I am missing one song from the movie. It is Oh Oh Rang ki yeh noor ki barsaat rahe sung by Kishore Kumar, Dilraj Kaur, Abhijeet and Peenaz Masani.

Request generous members to please upload the missing song.

Part 2 of Andar Baahar. Also notice the tribute to the usha mangeshkar sung Mungda song (which has rajesh roshan's music) used in the movie and the jackie dialogue in it!

Angoor (1981)

Director: Sampooran Singh Gulzar
Writers: Sampooran Singh Gulzar (dialogue)
Sampooran Singh Gulzar (screenplay)
William Shakespeare (original story- Comedy of Errors)

I consider this one of the few good 80s comedies. Along with Omkara and Maqbool it is one of the best Indian adaptations of Shakespeare's plays. When we were taught shakespeare plays in school I never could have imagined them in an indian setting but creative people like Gulzar and Vishal Bhardwaj have made it happen. Its also one of the few movies of Gulzaar which are not heavy on the mind! All the actors have done a wonderful job.

Cast:
Sanjeev Kumar ... Ashok R. Tilak (double role)
Moushumi Chatterjee ... Sudha A. Tilak (as Moushmi)
Deven Verma ... Bahadur (double role)
Aruna Irani ... Prema (Bahadur's wife)
Deepti Naval ... Tanu (Sudha's sister)
Padma Chavan ... Alka (as Padma Chauhan)
Utpal Dutt ... Raj Tilak

Plot:
Ashok R. Tilak lives in Dinkapur with his widowed mother, and a servant named Bahadur. He travels to another town on a business trip to buy several acres of grape-bearing trees, with Bahadur accompanying him. Although this is his first trip to this town, however, everyone appears to know him and Bahadur, including the Ticket Checker at the Railway Station, the taxi-driver, the Hotel Manager, local Police Inspector Sinha, a Jeweler named Chhedilal and his assistant Mansoor, and to top it all a woman named Sudha claims that she is his wife, and another woman named Tanu claims that she is his sister-in-law, while a third one named Alka claims that she is his mistress. All's not well for Bahadur either for he bears the brunt of this confusion when he finds out that he has a wife named Prema; a normally sane boss, who keeps on sniffing snuff and smoking alternatively, and who yells and slaps him frequently. After a nightmarish night, the hapless duo decide they have had enough and decide to return home, only to have the police arrest them for theft of a diamond necklace. Watch what happens when the truth is hilariously revealed at the Police Station of this town that has never these comedy of errors - ever

Songs
The movie has only three songs but all are very good. Lyrics are by Gulzar, a one man army of the movie! To be fair the story is so engrossing and funny you don't feel the need for more songs. Asha excels in the classical based Roz roz daali daali. R.D. also pays a tribute to C.H. Atma/O.P.'s Preetam Aan Milo which is sung ably by Sapan Chakraborty. A wonderful take on the old classic.

Cast (Actor - Character's name)

Dev Anand ... Arun Anand

Suneil Anand ... Varun Anand
Raj Babbar ... Pratap Singh, Union Leader
Rakhee Gulzar ... Mrs. Arun Anand
Smita Patil ... Kiran, Arun's Secretary
Natasha Sinha ... Rachna Thakur, Varun's girlfriend
Rakesh Bedi ... Ravi
Biswajeet ... Thakur

Plot:
Arun Anand has been married for several years now, but his wife is unable to conceive. Arun's has an affair with his personal secretary, Kiran, and as a result Kiran gets pregnant.

The missing song has been uploaded by nik-nak-paddy-wak ji here. Thanks a lot nik-nak-paddy-wak ji.
