This song brings memories of the winter of 1962 when, as a school-boy, I first heard names like Bomdila and Tezpur. When, every night, at 9:15 P.M., the report from the war-front would speak of "strategic retreat" (by an ill-equipped army in the face of overwhelming forces). Years later, during a train-journey, I met a jawan who had survived the onslaught and described how his rifle would be too hot to hold after constant firing.....and yet the enemy forces advanced relentlessly.

We are familiar with the audio version of this song. But this track blends the extra stanza in the movie with the orchestra version accompanying the titles, followed by the full song.

Since the full track is 9:25 minutes, it has been split into two files.

The voice of Rafi-sahab conveying, as only he could, the pain of the price of patriotism:

As for as war pain concerns, Chetan Anand's documentary film-Haqeeqat is beyond all the classifications.
