Antji dil baag baag ho gaya. The music is of course by the legend Raviji. I was not knowing that he was a punjabi until I met him at Mumbai airport. He is from Pathankot and his full name is Ravi Shankar Sharma. I find that whenever the Punjabis, who have established themselves in the Hindi Movie Industry, contributed to the Punjabi movies their presence has really been felt. Even in Hindi movies the trio of B.R.Chopraji, Saahirji and Raviji has produced memorable masterpieces like Hamraj, Gumrah and Waqt. In the movie circles Raviji is known to be a music director who has given maximum hits, percentagewise, and no one other, even SJ, KA, MM, OPN, SDB,RDB, LP or any other could match him on that count. Regarding his scores, who donot know the music of Hamraaj, Gumrah, Waqt, Do badan, Neelkamal, Chaudhanvi kaa Chand, Bharosa, Khaandaan, Bharosa, Nikah and so on.

During my short guftgu with him he jokingly said that no marriage takes place in India without his songs. The marriage songs that he composed we know are memorable like Babul ki duaayen leti ji, Doli chad ke dulhan sasuraal chali, aaj mere yaar ki shaadi hai etc.

Are there 2 versions of this song--I have 2 one got from yahoo sks and one from coolgoose. In one both Asha and Rafi sound a little older. It could be just recording speed or some such thing but it kept intriguing me--had posted such a query on the AB forum but no one had anything to add. Do U know of 2 recordings? --maybe film postponed or something?

I have a track from Mera Naam Joker called

The track is around 2:50 minutes.
Now it's not really in Panjabi, but it is just like a traditional Panjabi Heer.


If this is the track you are referring to, please let me know and I will, of course, UL.
But there may be a true Panjabi version as well, so I'm not sure, so let me know.

Ayyo just came across this confusion!!! Antji I did not refer to U as betaji. That was Maheshsk who for some reason lives under the delusion that he is my aankh ka taara, ladla and what not.
Ab koi kya karein. Bahut kuch bulaya gaya hai humein yahan par--yeh bhi sahi.
But my query on the song still remains --though everyone has heard only one version I am still doubtful.

Hi 'Deewaani'......Yes......This was the very song I was referring to.....from Mera Naam Joker......Yes, you are right, the lyrics aren't exactly Punjabi, but the style is 'pakka' Punjabi Heer styled....Thanks a Million for that upload deewaani.........GR88 Job!!!!!
