(Raaj) Vaasna (1968)
Here is a classic from the combination of Chitragupt and Sahir Saab. There are several melodious songs in this beauty. My favorites include both solos by Rafi Saab, "Aaj Iss darja" and "Itni Naazuk Na Bano" and the duet of Rafi Saab with Lata, "Yeh Parvaton ke Daayre". I am uploading these and the rest of the songs from an original soundtrack album below. Now for these lovely songs ... Attached image(s) |

Jo Chala Gaya use bhool ja....what a song. Incredible that a Naushad film with no songs of Rafisaab.
Here is the fact. Rafisaab was overseas for tours and advised Naushad to ask Mukesh to sing the songs after he had heard the compositions. Same goes for many other films where Rafisaab has recommended other singrs due to his non availabity. PLAYBACK SINGING STARTS AND ENDS WITH RAFISAAB. IN TERMS OF QUALITY, CONSISTENCY & VERSATILITY, RAFISAAB IS INFINITE LIGHT YEARS AHEAD OF ALL SINGERS BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER HIM. |

Till 1970 no MD had worked more with Rafisaab then Chitragupta. Itni nazuk na bano is simply matchless. PLAYBACK SINGING STARTS AND ENDS WITH RAFISAAB. You sometimes wonder when you expect that a particular singer should be singing a song but end up with someone else doing it. Some of these, I am pretty confident about this, have to do with the type of reasons you have shared here. Cheers, S |

I am not disputing it, but I always thought it probably was Shankar & Jaikishan. This is mostly based on the success enjoyed by Shammi & Rajendra with S&J's collaboration till that date. Cheers. -S |

(Dharmendra) Shikar (1968)
"Shikar" was the first full length color movie under the banner of "Guru Dutt Films". It was produced by Guru's brother, Atma Ram, who took over after his brother's unexpected death during the shooting of "Baharen Phir Bhi Aayengi (1967)". "Shikar" was a hit thanks mainly due to its beautiful music and dashing looks of Dharmendra. This movie was photographed by the great V.K. Murty who was a close friend and associate of Guru. He photographed all of Guru's own movies except "Chaudhvin Ka Chand". Most of the songs from this album became very popular. The standout song is the one by Asha, "Parde Mein Rahne Do". Asha is at her best in these type of songs and she does it here very beautifullly. Also worth mentioning are Rafi Saab's solo, "Tumhaare Pyaar Mein", and the duet of Kalle and Kapoor, "Mere Sarkaar". Here are these and other songs from an original sound track album ... Attached image(s) |

(Jeetendra) Shaadi ke Baad (1972)
L.V. Prasad, who made so many hit movies in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi, produced and directed this movie. This movie was based on the hit Telugu film "Pelli Chesi Choodu" made in 1952 that was directed by Prasad himself. Prasad also directed this movie made in Tamil, "Kalyanam Panni Paar". Both Tamil and Telugu versions had, it seemed like, a song almost every ten minutes or so. But the Hindi version, made 20 years later was a smaller in length with fewer songs but retained the story conecept of the other versions. I will upload songs from the Telugu film in this thread immediately after uploading the Hindi songs. Here is a description of the songs of the Hindi version and the songs themselves ...
