Concluding Songs from "Aradhana (1969)" ...

In this post I am including several specials. There is a special version of "Kora Kaghza" I am including here that was performed live by Lataji and Suresh Wadkar. This is taken from the album "Lata Live in 1981 - Vol. 1". I am also including the same song with a beautiful introduction by Kishoreda talking fondly his association with Lataji. This is taken from the album "Legends: Lata Mangeshkar - The Melody Queen (CD 3)". I am including another version of the same song, this time with Lataji taking tuens with an introduction talking fondly about Kishoreda. I am including a version song of "Mere Sapnon ki Raani" by Amit Kumar. Finally I am including the song "Roop Tera Mastaana" with an introduction by Rajesh Khanna where he talks about how Kishoreda's voice became identified as his own.

Doli (1969)

This movie was based on a hit Telugu film, "Tene Manasulu (1965)". Both films were direced by Adurti Subba Rao who made himself a name later with "Milan (1967)". I will take this opportunity to upload songs from the Telugu film as well right after these.

Tene Manasulu (1965) - A Telugu Film

This movie was the basis for "Doli (1969)". The distinction of this movie was that it had almost the entire cast of newcomers. Adurti Subba Rao, who co-wrote, produced, and directed this movie took a gamble by sparing no expenses (this was one of the early color films made in Telugu). It paid off because the movie clicked. However, of a host of actors who were introduced in this movie, only one went onto become a real star. That was actor Krishna.

I am uploading these songs in two back-to-back posts. Here are the songs in the first set ...
