I am not sure about Baba Ki Sun Le Baat, but there is a Lata song called Door Hi Se Hum Se Karo Baat in this film. This song plus O Bhai Machhua is available in low bit rate here: http://hindi-films-songs.com/narsingh316.html Aditya Thanks for the pointer, Aditya. Cheers. -S This post has been edited by swarapriya: Dec 8 2009, 10:41 PM |

Some Extended Version Songs of "Daaera (1953)" I am including in this post some extended version songs. Couple of these are by the courtesy of the Forum members. Thank you. The third one I found in the "You Tube". This is a very long version of Talat's song "Aa Bhi Jaa Meri Duniya Mein" which is over seven minutes long. Its quality is poor but it has sounds of Meena Kumari intermixed within drwan out silences of the song. The slow pace with Talat sings and the long song really match the mood that was depicted in the movie and caught my fancy. Here are these songs ... Wundebar! "Devta tum ho mera sahara..." is an all time favirite of mine. Thanks for posting a very good audio of it. nandi |

(Meena) Dana Paani (1953)
I have only two songs available from this movie, both by the courtesy of the Forum members. Thank you. At first I thought the music for this film was composed by Madan Mohan Saab. But checking EarthMusic network and more authoritatively, Madan Mohanji's official website, I realized that the music was not composed by Madan Saab but it is by Madan Junior. I have listed in red italics missing songs in the table below. I am requesting the Forum members to share these missing songs if they can. Thank you. Now for the two songs ... Attached image(s) |

(Nargis) Jaan Pehchaan (1950)
Here is another Nargis-Raj starrer that had a similar theme like Raj's maiden directorial venture "Aag (1948)". He repeats the same theme again with "Satyam Sivam Sundaram" made in 1978. Ramanad Sagar who made his debut with Raj's "Barsaat" in 1949 for which he wote the story, screenplay, and dialogues is at the helm again here writing the screenplay and dialogues. But the story here is neither that of Nargis & Raj nor of Sagar. It is about the music of this movie. Khemchand Prakash (his picture attached), who made his debut when he was 21 as a music director in 1939 with "Ghazi Salahuddin" was just coming back from his greatest triumph, "Mahal" made in 1949. The movie catapulted Lata Mangeshkar to fame and fortune. But, while giving music for "Jaan Pehchaan", he passed away. He was barely 42. In his brief stint of 11 years of professional career he composed music for 34 films. Manna Dey took over after Prakashji's death to complete composing the songs for "Jaan Pehchaan". Besides turning around Lata's career, Prakashji was also responsible for giving Kishoreda his initial break in the movie "Ziddi" made in 1948 with the solo song "Marne Ki Duaayen". Every song in this album is an absolute beauty. Here Geetaji is at her best singing five soul stirring solos and a beautiful romantic melody with Talat Saab. I haven't heard many of Dasgupta's songs, but both the solos in this album are just great. I am missing one song from this album. It is shown in red italics in the table below. I am requesting members to share this if they can. Now for the songs ... Attached image(s) |

(Madhubala) Nadaan (1951) I am uploading most of the songs from this album here. Chic Chocolate, the music director, was apparently worked with C. Ramchandra who supervised the music for this album. All these songs are by the courtesy of the Forum members. Because these songs came from various sources, their quality is also variable ranging sometimes from very good to other times to kind of iffy. I am uploading some extended version songs in the second post. That post also lists missing songs. Here is the first set of songs ... Dear swarapriya, The male voice in Aisa Kyaa Qasoor Kiyaa sound like Chitalkar and not Rafi. Am I right? Aisa Kya Qusoor Kiya was in Rafi's voice in the film, and in Chitalkar's voice on 78rpm. Aditya As usual, Swarapriya, you have started a wonderful thread and have supplied us with a whole bunch of goodies. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I am uploading the Lata-Chitalkar version below (mp3 @ 128 kbps, 3:21 minutes). There is, unfortunately, a slight echo in the recording: if anyone has a better recording, please do upload it. In this version, the stanza in the female voice comes first. In the Lata-Rafi uploaded above, the stanza in the male voice comes first and Lata's stanza is truncated. (Swarapriya: can you check whether the recording you uploaded has been edited? At 1:09, there is a jump in the recording that sounds like some splicing has been attempted on the song.) Warm regards, Abhay |
