(Kishore) Kaneez (1949)
Our fellow member Debjyoti convinced me that Kishore did appear in this movie in a brief role. I am uploading all of the songs from this album, all by the courtesy of the Forum members. Most of the songs were composed by Ghulam Haider. A couple of songs were composed by Hansraj Behl. This was the first movie in which O.P. Nayyar made his debut. He scored the background music for the movie. Almost all songs are of decent quality, remember they are 60 years old. The song "Apni Roothi Hui" because of its very slow recording pace appears to be from a 78 rpm record. I am uploading the songs in two back-to-back posts. Here is the first set of songs ... Songs of "Kaneez (1949)" Continued ...
I am uploading here a couple of extended version songs. Please be warned that the quality of the extended version of "Duniya Mein Ameeron Ko" is not that great. It is noisy in the beginning but after a minute or so it settles down to be of decent listenable quality. I am also including a couple of instrumentals composed by O.P. Nayyar. I am also including here a duet by Shamshad Begum and Durrani. Here are these songs ... Attached image(s) |

I might be wrong, but I think Is Dil Se Teri Yaad Bhulayi Nahin Jaati is a non-film song of Rafi composed by Hansraj Bahl. Aditya My Blog - http://urgetofly.blogspirit.com

KK's voice did figure in this song, but it wasn't yodelling. The bumchik bumchik gibberish in the middle of the song was sung by KK. Aditya My Blog - http://urgetofly.blogspirit.com

Deb & Aditya,
I made the change to the table by giving credit also to Kishoreda as a singer for the song "Ameeron". Thanks for the information and confirmation. Cheers, Swarapriya |

(Dev) Jeet (1949)
Here is another album in which Dev stars with Suraiya, a real life romantic pair during late 40's and early 50's. Suraiya dominates with five beautiful solos and a duet. But Geetaji holds her own with two unforgettable solos of her own. Particularly, the song "Suno Suno Banwaari" is a real beauty in Geetaji's beautiful and inimitable style. Lata also lends hand with a couple of nice solos. These songs came from various CD collections and through Forum member contributions. My many thanks to the members. Now for the songs ... (Dilip) Ghar Ki Izzat (1948)
Here is an album where Shamshadji has three beautiful solos and five duets, four of which I am uploading here. I am missing two songs shown in red italics in the table below. Requesting members to share these songs if they can. This movie starred wiith Dilip a lady named Mumtaz Shanti (photo attached). She acted in only a few movies before she migrated to Pakistan after the independence. But before her move, she made some very popular movies including the record breaking "Kismet" in 1943 with Ashok Kumar. When she migrated to Pakistan, she still had a few acting assignments on hand that she committed to do. She came back to India often enough to complete all her assignments, a magnificent gesture. But she couldn't do much with her talent in Pakistan and died unknown, as someone observed, in dignified poverty. Here are the songs, all by te courtesy of the Forum members. Thank you ... (Kishore) Shikari (1946) Per filmography, Kishore appeared in the movie "Do Ghadi Ki Mauj" in 1935. If this is true, I don't have any songs from this movie. Requesting members to kindly share. The filmography also gives that Kishore appeared in the 1936 film "Krorepati". I believe this is in error. This movie starred Saigal. I do have some songs from this movie but bacause I am convinced that Kishore didn't appear in this movie, I am not uploading these here. May be some of our learned members can help resolve this. By the way, Kishore did star in a movie called "Krorepti" later in his acting carrier, in 1961. That leaves me to come to this album, which I believe is the film in which Kishore made his acting debut. Its music is by that great composer S.D. Burman. There are 10 songs in this movie. I am uploading five of them here. Requesting members to share the rest if they can. Also, I am including Burmanda's version of "Rangeela Re" song. It is an absolute treat. Please see the post be Pradeep Asrani below. This movie had several songs that were sung by the great actor Ashok Kumar. He had such a beautiful voice. I wonder why he chose not to sing in his movies later in his career. Interestingly, he insisted on Kihsore to make a career as an actor instead of as a singer Kishore originally wanted to be. The source of the songs is from CD collections and from the Forum members. Thanks to the members. Now for the songs ... Thanks Swarapriya for starting this excellent thread on 3 Stalwarts of HFM. Being busy on workfront could not respond earlier. Here I shall upload missing songs which I have. Here one missing song from Shikari (1946): 1946-SHIKARI -Radio Version--Tere bina sooni sooni hai meri phulwari Singer: Paro Devi -Md: S.D. Burman File: Mp3-2.33 minms--Vbr-162 kb This post has been edited by mirsa: Dec 12 2009, 03:14 PM |
