Log Kahen Mere Nain Baawre - Chandan 1958 - Lata - time 3:37 bitrate 128kbps For me, singing sad songs often has a way of healing a situation. It gets the hurt out in the open into the light, out of the darkness.

(Sadhana) Waqt (1965)
This is the movie that gave a breakthrough for Yash Chopra as a director. His earlier effort with "Dharmaputra" met with failure. He made both these movie while he was associated with his older brother B.R. Chopra. Originally Prithviraj Kapoor was considered for Balraj Sahni's role and Chopras wanted Raj, Shammi, and Shashi to play three sons. Because of too many conflicts scheduling they decided to go with the cast of Raaj Kumar, Sunil Dutt, and Shashi Kapoor as the brothers. It also starred a smashing Sadhna and a stylish Sharmila in the female leads. The movie was set in a lavish scale and ran for well over three hours. It has some of the beautiful songs penned by Sahir Saab and has one of the fine musical composing efforts by Ravi. This was out and out an entertainer and a winner. The movie not only became phenomenally successful but in the process bagged several Filmfare awards. Yash Chopra was awarded the Best Director, Raaj Kumar, who gave a magnificent performance, Best Supporting Actor, Akhtra Mirza for Best Story, Akhtar ul Iman for Best Dialogues, and Dharam Chopra, the younger Chopra brother, as the Best Cinematographer. It also started the trend of multi-starrers as a sure way to create a winner. This movie was later made in Telugu in 1969 as "Bhale Abbaayilu" but was a commercial failure. I will upload few songs from the Telugu movie right after I upload the songs of the Hindi version, in this section. Because of the number of songs, I will upload them in two back-to-back posts. The LP gave pictures of the scenes of each song on the back cover. As an experiment, I am adding these pictures with each of the songs in the details table. Here is the first set of songs ... Bhale Abbaayilu (1969) - A Telugu Movie
This movie was a remake of "Waqt (1965)". It was a boxoffice failure. I was able to get only three songs from this movie that I am uploading here. One missing song is shown in red italics in the table below. I am sure there must be another three or four songs that are missing. Requesting members to share these with rest of us if they can. Of the three songs I am uploading, two are copies from the Hindi version. The song "Evaro Eenaadu" is "Kaun Aaya" in Hindi. The song "Kaalame Vidhi Roopamu" is "Waqt Se Din Aur Raat" in Hindi. Here are these songs ... Attached image(s) |

Thanks for these beautiful songs, swarapriya...such a lovely film too. I loved Dharmputra as well! But the songs from Waqt are sublime.
