Ajooba (1991)

Here is a movie that should never have been made. It is so horrible that you feel disgusted watching some great ensemble of stars parading through on the screen. It showed how vulnerable even a great actor like Amitabh was. Shashi Kapoor produced and directed this movie besides having a major role in it. His brother Shammi was also in it. His nephew Rishi was in it too. It was coproduced by Shashi's son Kunal and the late actor Feroz Khan. It is amazing that with so many talented people with lots of professional successes behind them could make such a messy movie that has no singular thing worth mentioning about it. Subject matter it dealt was hackneyed. The acting by all the principles was shoddy. The costumes used were just horrible. The direction was simply insipid. Even the music by LP was in tune with the overall character of the movie, just uninspiring.

Chamatkar (1992)

Anu Malik proved himself to be worthy son of the great Sardar Malik. With over 200 films to his credit, he also proved his durability. He does go through lean patches from time to time, but this one is an exception. There are some good songs in it if you like the way Kumar Sanu sings. One thing is sure, he is no Kishore Kumar. In fairness though he does have some pretty good numbers in this. He appears in six of the seven songs, so get ready for an overdose of Sanu.

Because of the lengths of the songs, I will upload them in two back-to-back posts. Here is the first set of songs ...
