(Zeenat) Ishk Ishk Ishk (1974)
Here is a movie that Dev Anand wanted to be a musical. I read somewhere that when the movie was released and became a flop, he blamed R.D. for not giving good music. I don't believe that Dev would say something like that. If this was the case, I think Dev was wrong. This may not be one of RD's greater achievements, but the music wasn't that bad. I am uploading songs from this album in two back-toback posts. Here is the first set of songs ... Attached image(s) |

(Asha) Chhaya (1961)
Here is a beautiful album from the always dependable Salilda. This movie was directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee for AVM. This was one of his inferior works. In these songs Talat Saab is in the limelight. He sang three solos and a duet. All of them are just absolutely delightful to listen to. Other songs are also equally good, the solo by Lata, the duet of Lata and Mukesh, and also Rafi Saab's solo. Here are the songs ... It ends with a delightful sargam, which is not there in the longer version. Aditya My Blog - http://urgetofly.blogspirit.com

I am a huge fan of GS Kohli---he wrote a lot of really beautiful music. Thank you for the Faulad songs---I think "Jaan-e-Jaana..." is such a beautiful song. And Faulad is a really fun film too ;-) Re: Nutan---do you happen to have the songs from her film "Chhabili"? I have been looking for them for a long time (the film too)...she herself sings one of them, and it's lovely. Thanks again for sharing all this music. Yes, some. Six to be exact. I am uploading these songs in chronological order. Send me a personal message. I will be happy to mail these songs to you. Cheers. -S Count me in Swarapriya. Also, do add Dilli Ka Thug to the list. Dazed at the amazing effort that you continue to put in. Best Prashant |

Yes, I will be eventually uploading both the albums. And, thank you for the kind words. Cheers. -S |

Here is another one from the duo Shankar & Jaikishan. Couple of solos from Rafi Saab are worth listening. This post has been edited by swarapriya: Dec 12 2009, 02:14 AM Attached image(s) |

(Mala) Ek Gaon Ki Kahani (1957)
Here is another beauty from always dependable Salida. Talat Mahmood, suave and handsome he was, not only sang in this movie but also acted. He has couple of nice solos and a duet. I am also including "Raat Ne Kya Khwab" song which has introduction by the famous ghazal singer, Pankaj Udhas. This song is from the "Legends" album. Here are the songs ... Attached image(s) |

(Hema) Andaz (1971)
Here is an album with one of the great songs by Kishoreda, a perennial favorite, "Zindagi Ek Safar". Like the song itself, Rajesh Khanna lights up the screen with his cheerful performance in a brief appearance obvershadowing Shammi Kapoor, the hero of the movie. Here are the songs ... (Mumtaz) Mujhe Jeene Do (1963)
Here is a beautiful album from Jaidev with some gtreat songs by both Asha and Lata. The standout songs are Asha's "Nadi Naare Na Jaao" and Lata's "Raat Bhi Hai Kuchh Bheegi Bheegi". Here are these and the rest of the songs ... This post has been edited by swarapriya: Sep 13 2009, 06:25 AM Attached image(s) |
