(Nargis) Anokha Pyar (1948)
Songs from this album by Anil Biswas ji are a beauty. Another highlight of this album is there are many several versions of the same song. I'm not sure whether all these songs were actually in the movie or not. But they offer different and a beautiful perspective of the same song. Almost all these songs, except four, are due to the HF member vdsachin ji. Thank you Sachin ji. Here are the songs ... Attached image(s) |

In the film, Meena Kapoor sang for Nargis and Lata Mangeshkar for Nalini Jayawant. When it was time to record for 78rpm records, Meena Kapoor was apparently unwell, so Lata Mangeshkar recorded all her songs for the records. The only exception was the Lata-Meena Kapoor duet, which became Lata-Ira Nagrath duet for the records. My Blog - http://urgetofly.blogspirit.com

Meena Kapoor has clearly beaten Lata in this song.
IK DIL KA LAGAANA BAAKI THA from "Anokha Pyar". MOVIE VERSION SUNG BY MEENA KAPOOR IN WMA 192 KBPS. When you find peace within yourself, you become the kind of person who can live at peace with others

Maybe I'm wrong but I think you missed two Lata solos: Mere Phoolon Mein Chhupi Hai Jawani Yaad Rakhna Chand Taaron (solo version) Both are attached. Kind Regards Faraaj Kind Regards Faraaj Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent. - Victor Hugo There is only one better thing than music - live music. - Jacek Bukowski I hate music, especially when it's played. - Jimmy Durante No good opera plot can be sensible, for people do not sing when they are feeling sensible. - W. Mahesh, I respectfully disagree with your assessment of Lata vs Meena Kapoor. Lat could outsing Meena and almost anyone in the film or non-film world (Classical) in the "Golden Age." And that is true of this song too. |

Lata has sung this song just as a singer having classical abilities.
Meena Kapoor has sung it from inner heart with pathos. When you find peace within yourself, you become the kind of person who can live at peace with others

(Meena) Magroor (1950)
I don't have a single song from this Meena Kumari-starrer. Per EarthNet the following are some of the songs in the movie. If anyone of you have them or others from this movie, please share. Thanks. Attached image(s) |
