QUOTE(RajanCS @ Jul 14 2009, 12:32 PM) *
HT and SB,

Thanks for the links. As regards singer MSRajeshwari, I got it from net. Can't remember the site offhand.

Apart from various download sites, I keep searching for additional info in a few discussion forums such as The Hub (there was one more, I forget the name).

Last night, I heard Ninaipitha Ellam - PBS from Nenjil Oru Alayam. I know it is not a rare song but a great song. More so because I could understand meaning of the Mukhda at least.

One more aspect I notice as follows. I make it a point to get the MD for each song. I notice that majority of songs so far obtained (126 in all) has either Viswanathan-Ramamurthy or GRamanathan as the composer.

Regards,

Rajan

Yes Rajan bhai, Vishwanathan-Ramamurthy were the ruling MDs of the early period of Tamil Music and with G Ramanathan, K V. Mahadevan giving their due too. They split later and then we have had M.S. Vishwanathan, taking over the realm. smile.gif

This is a lovely song. AMRaja had really a very soft and sweet voice. His compositions were also lovely - like in Kalyana Parisu.

Today got a beautiful duet of PSusheela and C. S. Jayaraman from Pudhaiyal - Vinnodum Mugilodum. Again a Viswanathan-Ramamurthy composition.

Sincere regards,

Rajan

Rajan..Glad that you liked the song. AM Raja is a multifaceted genius. It is pertinent that his contemporaries are legends..inspite of which he carved a niche for himself in every language he did... Unfortunately he passed away in a train accident.. sad.gif
Here is one more absolutely moving song...it is the tamil version of " Sou baar janam lenge"........actually it has a telugu version too sung by PB Srinivas..ofcourse Rafi Sahab gave that song immortality. But it is a pleasure to listen to TMS...

Ooorayiram parvaile..
Vallavakku vallavan
TMS
mp3, 128 kbps, 3.51 min

Just now heard the song ..from Pudhaiyal...it is very melodious. thanks for pointing it out to me. smile.gif

Both are duets, one with P Susheela and the other with S Janaki (she only hums in this one).
Absolutely superb songs IMO.

Music: K V Mahadevan
Bitrate: 128 kbps

Song: Anbaale theDiya en arivu selvam
Film: Deiva piravi (1960)
Singers: S Janaki, C S Jayaraman
Music: R Sudarsanam
Bitrate: 128 kbps
Duration: 3:28
