Thanks! Good to get an mp3 version of this song. The MD for this song is actually not Pandit Amarnath (the elder brother of Husnlal and Bhagatram), but another Amarnath altogether. His only commonly known credit is this film....

Pandit Amarnath of Garam Coat was a classical musician, and also goes with the epithet "Pandit". He was a disciple of Ustad Amir Khan. A brief biography

There is a book that mentions that he composed from 7 films, but I'm aware only of Garam Coat. Here's a picture from that book, that days this.

There was an interview of Pt. Ram Narain, the famous sarangi player, where he claimed that he co-composed the music for Garam Coat. There is no documented proof for this, but Pt. Ram Narain did played those wonderful sarangi pieces in the songs of Garam Coat

Each an every song of Garam coat was an unadulterated gem!

Thanks for the info Aditya. The few conversations I recall on HF differentiated the Garam Coat MD from the more well-known Pt. Amarnath who composed hit songs for Master Madan, Mirza Sahiban, Nishani and Shahr Se Door....

I was not aware of this Pandit Amarnath's credentials and Jogiya Se Preet Kiye is the only song of his I'm familiar with. Can you please upload the other good songs of Garam Coat.....I'd be very keen to hear them....

The earlier Pandit Amarnath was the elder brother of Husnlal and Bhagatram - he died quite early. The "Garam Coat"-waalaa Pandit Amarnath was a disciple of Amir Khan and - from whatever I have been able to gather - composed for only this one film. Each time I listen to the songs, I wonder why we don't have more of this man's work!

Here are the other 4 songs of "Garam Coat", all sung by Lata Mangeshkar. All songs are in mp3 @ 192 kbps. Duration is mentioned in the file names.
