Songs Of "Sangam (1964)" Contined ...

All songs I am uploading here are by the courtesy of the Forum members. Some of the songs have jumps in them. I cleaned all these songs. The extended version of "Prem Patra" song has nearly 3 minutes of music preceding the actual song and another 30 seconds of music at the end. If you upload separatley all parts 1, 2, and 3 then you don't need to upload the extended version but you will miss the music.

Also, I am suspecting whether the snippet by Mukesh "Peeke Hum Tum" does really belong here? I am not sure whether this is from the movie "Sangam". A similar song is in "Gumnaam" but that was sung by Lata and Asha. I filed away this song under "Sangam". It probably is a mistake. Inspite of my doubts I am including it here.

Now for a description of these songs and the songs themselves ...

Around The World (1967)

Here is another Raj-starrer that has lots and lots of splash of colors but not much else to show. A whole lot was spent in making this movie because it was shot mostly abroad. Comedian and character actor Om Prakash's brother made this movie. It has some nice songs by Mukesh and if you like Sharda she has several songs in it.

Because of the number of songs, I will be posting them in two separate postings, one after another. Here are first five songs ...

Thanks, SP! Was missing a few tracks!

woman is the mirror in which man sees the reflection of his own self, his own dormant and hidden powers of genius when she comes and stands before him
A woman is a meaning to life ! Someone who loves, who cares !

Diwana (1967)

Here is another beautiful musical from Shankar & Jaikishan. The only thing worthwhile in these movies starting in late 70's starring Raj Kapoor was their music. Almost all these movies had hit music. Yet the movies were mostly forgettable. This film was definitely belonged to this category.

Because of the number of songs, I will be posting them in two separate posts; one after another. The extended version of one of the songs is by the courtesy of the Forum members. Now for the first batch of songs ...

Sapnon Ka Saudagar (1968)

This was the movie opened doors for Hema Malini in Hindi films. She appeared briefly in a Telugu movie in 1961 as an early teenager. She auditioned for Sridhar's Tamil movie later on but didn't get the job as Sridhar thought she was not photogenic! (Sridhar made Raj Kapoor's "Nazrana" and Meena Kumari's "Dil Ek Mandir"). Anyway, she got her big break with Raj Kapoor when she starred in this movie. Raj was showing his age with both wrinkles on his face and pounds around his waste opposite a refreshingly innocent looking Hema Malini.

Thanks to Hema's good looks ans some okay music by the talented Shankar & Jaikishan, the movie clicked and a star was born. For many years, Hema was coined in the filmworld as a "Dream Girl". Here are the songs from this movie ...

Pradeep ji,

I went back and heard the song at least another couple of times. The song starts with couple of words uttered by Saira Banu but there is no singing from Sharda. Unless there is more to this song that comes after what I have uploaded.

Thanks,
Swarapriya

I have heard the Sharda version in the past. It is somewhat slower than the Mukesh version. HFGK too shows it as a separate song sung by Sharda.

Okay. Now I see what you are saying. I thought you were referring to this song as a duet. I'm sorry I don't have the Sharda version you're referring to. May be someone can help.

Thanks,
S

I have seen the movie a couple of times but don't recall it in the movie.?

May be the song was deleted from the movie but released with music (LP).
