Geeta Dutt Songs That Took The Hit

Thank God, this is in the film. But then it has taken a hit, the other way round. It was never released on the records, so very few people got to listen to it. Not available on cassettes and CDs too..

Minor corrections to the list:

Rut phire par din hamare is Geeta Dutt solo song. The one with Mohd Rafi sahab you are referring to is "Ho laakh museebat raste mein" (In the film, but not released on records). So thats number 23 in the list. Oops, I missed the fact that it is no. 21 in the list. Sorry!

I myself never thought that there will be so many songs of Geeta ji that would have taken a hit in some way or other.

Are there any songs of Geeta ji in regional movies as well which took the hit?
There maybe miscredited songs as well where records incorrectly mentioned another singer's name. Those would be songs where her name got hit!

Found one more song from the same film, probably the only song penned by Anand Bakshi sahab and sung by Geeta ji (subject to correction)

I have this song. Tag doesn't mention anything about it being hit.
Perhaps mahesh ji or others can tell if movie is unreleased or the song uploaded earlier alone is unreleased.
That will decide whether aa dil ki baazi laga is hit or not.

Thanks for uploading this rare song of GD. Just like the other song uploaded by HB from this movie, this too has a different style of music provided by Anil Biswas - very much unlike AB. Both these songs are really very nice.

I notice that the lyrics are by Anand Bakshi. The Talat song from this movie was written by Indivar (as per tag in my file!!!). This is the earliest song I know where Anand Bakshi has provided the lyric.

I realize that the focus of this thread is Geeta ji (songs that took hit) and not MD or the lyricist. Hope there is no issue with this diversion.

We always encourage discussion about Geeta ji's work with various composers, lyricists, film makers etc. That , IMHO, gives a complete representation of the artist. We had discussed this song in the past and I was myself not sure if indeed Anand Bakshi ji had penned this song.
Erum ji referred to the HF Geetkosh and confirmed that this song was written by AB ji.

Yes, you are right. All the posts I have read in the past about this film Jasoos indicate that the film was unreleased. I kindly request Mahesh to clarify on this.

The year mentioned is 1957 definitely.
This confused me more when I found the talat song which I remembered. Movie may have released then. The songs were posted there earlier and were not labelled there as unreleased.
On the other side Erumji's thread had it as unreleased here: http://www.hamaraforums.com/index.php?show...684&st=120#

There is some confusion about the movie definitely.
I have made a request there as well for clearing the release status of the song and film to remove the compounded confusion.
