I guess there are a few corrections to the above family tree.
1) Kanu Roy is not Geeta ji's brother, so his name to be taken off
2) One of her sister's name is Laxmi Roy who married Pramod Chakravarty
3) Nina's husband's name is Naushad
4) Nina has a daughter by name Nafeesa

More help needed

Cheers

I remember reading one of Bappa's old posts where he said he was in touch with one of Geetaji's brother whose name was Manik. (Don't remember which post though). I vaguely recall its the same thread where he said Kanu Roy wasn't her brother (but she may have had a brother by the same name).

So it means the composer Kanu Roy ( composer of Anubhav) was not her brother, but she might have another brother whose name happens to be Kanu. Am I correct?

Found only part of the information on thread: http://www.hamaraforums.com/index.php?act=...=87&t=10877

It says:-

Ok here is a fact that was incorrect about Geeta Dutt:

Kanu Roy is not related to the Roy Chowdhurys at all.

Mukul da and Milan da are the two brothers so far I know of. I am getting a list of all siblings of her's soon from our common friend.

Bappa

So from this its clear about Kanu Roy MD not being brother. Another brother Milan is mentioned in this post. I can't find the post mentioning Manik Roy or another brother also being named Kanu.

Wow HB, this is good information you are getting.

So far we have this information on her brothers
Mukul (MD)
Milan
Manik (?)
Kanu (? , not the MD)

How about the sisters ?
Laxmi (Married to Pramod Chakravarty)

Any more information on her brothers/sisters ?

Thanks

Cheers

The 'Tributes' section made for great reading, especially the one by Meena Kapoor. Is there a way by which the Hindi text can show up in Devnagri instead of or along with the Roman transliteration? Reading paragraphs of Hindi in Roman script is not very easy for me, having it in Devnagri would look better too, I think. smile.gif

Frangipani...it is not a big deal. There is a software which can convert english words into Devnagri...We can do it in the next update.. a good idea. smile.gif

Did Geeta Dutt sing "Vande Mataram...." - with G M Durrani !!! Never knew about it - This one will be a special song since it was recorded - may be - with a different tune than Hemantda composed for Anand Math.

Any idea who was the composer - or still better can a kind - generous soul on HF upload the song if they have.

Looking forward eagerly for some response...
Thank You smile.gif
