Now..this is a connoisseur's delight..to listen to Hemant singing in TAMIL ! smile.gif I got hold of this song courtesy Lakshmi...It was amazing to hear him sing....quite tough task, as Tamil is a language with intricate words..though am not qualified since i know no Tamil, i still find this beautiful !!

Idayaveenai ...( hriday veena )

SFji thank you for sharing some rare songs of Hemantda.
Meri awaaz kisi shor mein...... absolutely superb!!!!
Hemantda used to visit his brother-in-law's house very often
in the complex where I used to live on S.V. Road. (Hemantda's wife's sister)
His brother in law was a film director too. Very very warm people.
Though I never got the nerve to speak to Hemantda as a teenager, I used to
see him almost everday and you could help but notice his towering 6 ft. frame
very imposing. Very handsome and very warm - he used to smile always.
And his voice is so unique!!! What a treat to listen to his songs.
Thanks for sharing with us.

Jairaj Ji...I adore Hemant. so much so, i do collect his songs in every language because his voice has that special feel in it, as if it is meant for our feelings..I visited Kolkata only one time, to receive my diploma certificate, and i had this idea to visit him..just to see him once. I couldnt as my schedule went haywire..and i had to leave. Just a couple of months after that..Hemant passed away. I keep thinking that i should have courage on that day to go visit him..which was not to be.
Your notes are the nicest ones i have read around...as they are so true and simple..and steal our imagination. Thanks a million for sharing these nice thoughts with us.. bow.gif

Thanks SF for the tamil song. I loved listening to it. And have you heard him sing in Konkani? I have one song called 'Juliana' which is a very sweet one. If you want it, I would be happy to upload. smile.gif

And in the meantime, a friend was kind enough to forward 'jag beeti duniya kehti hai' to me this morning, I am uploading it here. Enjoy. smile.gif

Hi SF

I got 4 version songs of Hemant a few months back from HF - two each from Babul (original Talat Mahmood) and Aan (original Rafi). I assume you have these version songs. If not, I can upload here.

biggrin.gif Even if I did change my name, where would I find another Hemanta? biggrin.gif

And I did want to upload it to the server, but the bitrate of Juliana was very low, so put it up in Mediafire. smile.gif
