A Konkani song by AK

There is part in the song to which I wish to draw your attention - between the antra where AK does “hey hey” - now this style is so propriety to AK - it at once reminded me of the song ‘Bachna ae haseeno’ in HUM KISSISE KUM NAHI - he had rendered the ‘heys’ in a similar fashion at the end of the song (not many might know of it) and the same piece has been retained and interspersed repeatedly in the interlude by Vishal-Shekhar in the Sumeet Kumar version of the song. In a nutshell, the song from BACHNA AE HASEENO features Kishore Kumar, Amit Kumar and Sumeet Kumar - a fact AK himself corroborated in an interview appearing in Mumbai DNA some weeks ago even if AK voiced only ‘Hey hey’ in it.

AK in a MARATHI song

There is a distictively typical pronunciation for the ‘cha’, ‘zha’ and ‘(a)la’ in the marathi lingo and it is extremely difficult for non-maharshtrians speaking the language to pick it up and a dead-give-away. KK cudnt either and the 3 songs he sung in marathi had to be written without using words starting or containing these. In this particular song also while Suresh and Sachin race accross the song with aplomb, Shailendra falters on ‘zhala’, ‘khelu’ and AK on ‘ispik cha raja’ and ‘chala’.
I wish AK would sing more Marathi songs - I absolutely loved his voice where he goes “Nako re raja na bolu manmohana, radha preetichi mi bawri hoi bawri”
