Thank you so much, Swarapriyaji for yet another great album! Apart from the above listed two missing songs, there were two more songs in the film.....DILON KAA RISHTAA HAI--ASHA (Part-2 of AJAB HAMAARI HAI ZINDAGAANI) & BHAGWAAN TUJHE ROTE HUE--ASHA-SAATHI (The Asha & Chorus version, apart from Asha Solo version) Thank you Erum ji. Hope someone can come foward and upload these songs. Cheers. -S |

Mai Baap (1957)
1957 was like a crown jewel in O.P. Nayyar's distinguished career. He was at the top of his game during this year. This was the year he helped Shammi Kapoor catapult to fame and fortune with some of the most hummable songs in "Tumsa Nahin Dekha". This was the year he provided sensational music for the multiple award winning "Naya Daur". This was also the year he provided the music for this movie, "Mai Baap". I believe there were only six songs in this movie. Each of them was a huge hit. I am uploading five of the six songs here. These came from various CD collections. All of them are in excellent quality except one that has some what uneven sound distribution. This is the duet "Tu Dil Mera Lautaa De". It has a bit lower sound in the beginning but eventually it brightens up like Geeta ji's beautiful voice. The missing song is marked in red italics shown in the table below. Please share this if you have a copy of it. Now for the details of the songs and the songs themselves ... Attached image(s) |

Mai Baap (1957) Swarapriya, The missing song sounds like another version of 'dil toh razaamand hai' song. I am posting the song lyrics so that other members can recognize it and post the song. I will wait for other suggestions before changing my write up. Cheers. -S |

I think they are two different versions. It is not because of the starting lines; but even the stanzas don't match.
I have the song audio, 3:01min; likely similar to your uploaded audio. It has the following two stanzas. 1) dil chup raha gayaa hole hole dol ke ... 2) aaj nazar kahin ... The above stanzas are different from the ISB lyrics that I posted earlier. Exon This post has been edited by Exon: Oct 29 2008, 06:47 AM |

Thanks, Sangeetbhakt!
woman is the mirror in which man sees the reflection of his own self, his own dormant and hidden powers of genius when she comes and stands before him A woman is a meaning to life ! Someone who loves, who cares ! |

Do Ustad (1959) Here is another winner from OP. The twist is that here Rafi Saab is singing all the songs for Raj Kapoor. Remember this was in 1959. Raj Kapoor, Mukesh, and Shankar-Jaikishan were at the top of their popularity during this time. Only OP can do this and get away magnificently with it. There are eight songs in this album. Most of them are duets by Ashaji and Rafi Saab. The extended version of the song "Nazron Se Teer Maare" is by the courtesy of the Forum members. Now for details of the songs and the songs themselves ... Swarnapriya - Thank You for all these "Opee"s numbers If possible can you please re-upload songs of Do Ustad (1959) - missed them |
