SHYMAL MITRA told in an interview that when he asked KISHORE DA to sing the song - "KI ASHAY BANDHI KHELAGHAR" from bengali film"AMANUSH",KISHORE DA said him that he can not sing that song because the song is very hard.But SHYAMAL MITRA said him that he can sing the song verymuch.Then KISHORE DA said him to give al least one month to reharsh the song.SHYMAL MITRA agree with him.But KISHORE DA did not take that time.He sang that song in only one week reharsh.
After that song KISHORE DA asked SHYAMAL MITRA that 'is i am full justice with your composition' and at once SHYMAL MITRA said him that this song is going to one of timeless classics of KISHORE DA and every people remember KISHORE DA for the song when he is not present in the world.

SHYMAL MITRA also said that KISHORE KUMAR is not only a great singer but a great person.

Anyways friends, firstly, let us go by alphabetical order so that it easier to keep track of the MDs names, else there is every chance to miss out som names.

Secondly, let us have some space between posting about these MDs so that we have the scope to add info and trivia if any by any of us.

I fully agree with HT, the thread is to discover MDs under the two category as described in the thread theme, and we all should provide the info about the MD, under discussion, else everybody will provide the info they have, and the thread will look like a mess of Information without any proper direction. So let HT put the MDs in alphabetical order then we all share the information (that we have) about the MD under discussion.

Ali Akbar Khan

Humsafar 1953 - was composed by our Classical Maestro Ali Akbar Khan, whose discography includes many other movies like Andhiyaan, Ajantrik, Devi and many others.

Humsafar has 8 songs with Kishoreda singing under the maestro baton for two songs - namely Leela aparampaar prabhuji teri leela aparampaar, and Tumhe dulhan mili hame bhabhi mili, sune jangal mein.. (both with chorus). The music for this movie was assited by Jaidev Verma. Of the 8 songs, 8th song or probably is a small stanza which is considered to be a part 2 of the song Tumhe dulhan mili. Geet kosh does not credit it to any singer, so probably it could be a chorus part of the song continued and has no Kishore singing it.

Unfortunately I have not been able to get much literature on Ajit Verman. A rather underrated MD who has worked with the greats like Govind Nihalani. I guess his work speaks for himself - with movies like Ardha Satya, Saraansh, Vijeyta listed under his discography. Govind Nihalani himself states - "I have worked with music directors like Vanraj Bhatia, Ajit Verman and Vishal Bharadwaj. Each of them had their own style and approach. I think all of them are great in their own way. You see I worked with music directors whom I could relate to, in a particular project."
