Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon (1963)
The hit parade of OP continues with this great album. Some phenomenally beautiful songs in this album. Everyone of them is a sheer delight. Each one of them is a heart grabber. All of them stay with you forever. There are nine songs in this album. These all are from a CD. I am also including three extended versions. These are from a DVD. The song "Bijli Dole" was listed on CD as sung by Ashaji only. However, there is a second singer in this song. The Earthmusic identifies this second singer as Usha Mangeshkar. I am including her name for this song. Although all songs are winners from this album, my two personal favorites are "Aanchal Mein Saja Lena" by Rafi Saab and "Zulf Ki Chhaon Mein" the duet by Ashaji and Rafi Saab. Especially in the song "Aanchal Mein", there is so much richness and passion in Rafiji's voice that you want to freeze the moment and cherish it forever. Majrooh Saab is at the top of his game and provides lyrics that touch very deeply your heart and soul. Absolute delights. Now for details of the songs and songs themselves ... Swarapriya ji, Thanks for this album.
But, I am really sad to not get one of the best compositions of OPN, an Asha-Rafi duet, in a better quality. The songs is "Door Bahut Mat Jaaiye Leke Karaar Humara.... Najneen Bada Rangeen Hai Wada Tera" Though I have the song, it is not in best of the qualities. It has no noise, but bitrate is just 16kbps. So, I am uploading it on a shared site. http://www.4shared.com/file/56360053/97609...Laya_Hoon_.html I hope somebody here will upload a better version. And one mistake in the singers. 'Zulf Ki Chhaon Mein' is a duet, Asha-Rafi. :-) Thanks Pratul This post has been edited by Pratul: Jul 24 2008, 01:43 PM |

Actually, in the writeup I do describe the song correctly as a duet. Now for the song you're referring to, it is the same as "Humdum Mere". This is of CD quality. I'm not sure why you think this is not up to par. Cheers, Swarapriya |

Kashmir Ki Kali (1964)
Here is another triumphant offering from the staple of OP. This one, like Kashmir itself, has songs full of youth and beauty. In this movie Shammi is paired with Sharmila Tagore. This was her first Hindi movie. She was introduced by Satyajit Ray in "Apur Sansar" and acted in several of his Bengali movies. This was her first Hindi movie. She still looks so young in this movie exuding endless charm with her dimpled smiles matching acrobatic romantic antics of Shammi. In fact, it seems like Rafi Saab is the one providing acrobatics with numbers like "Subhanalla" and "Taarif Karun". Like rest of the world, no wonder, Shammi adored him. There are 10 songs in this movie. All but nine came from a CD. The "Humming" song, where Ashaj is just humming was given to me by a friend. There is also an extended version of "Meri Jaan Balle Balle". This is a gift from the Forum members. One of my favorite duets of Ashaji and Raf Saab is the song "Isharon Isharon Mein". This is done with so much poignancy, so much tenderness, so much sensuality, that it sways you away. Now for a description of the songs and the songs themselves ... Attached image(s) |

I have downloaded the song. Thanks once again for providing CD quality. Thanks, Pratul |
