Aayi Teri Yaad (1980)

Here is another album where Jaidevji uses relatively unknown singers of that time, but with very effective results. There are five songs in this album. I have only three that I am uploading. Missing two songs are shown in red italics in the table below. A request to the members: please share these if you happen to have them.

Now for details of the songs and the songs themselves ...

Swarapriya,

The audio labeled 'Aayi Teri Yaad' appears to be 'Phir Teri Yaad' song.
I had a similar situation in my collection. In my collection also I used to have two audios labeled 'Aayi Teri Yaad' and 'Phir Teri Yaad'. They both turned out to be two different audios of the same song 'Phir Teri Yaad'.

'phir teri yaad naye deep jalaane aayi, meri duniyaa se andheronko mitaane aayi
naa koyi dard, naa budard ka ahasaas rahaa' (6:12 & 6:00min)

If anyone has the song 'Aayi teri yaad', please upload it.

Here is one missing song. Song audio originated from HF member. Wohi Baat was an unreleased movie(?). I believe, this song was later used in Sameera (1981)

zindagi hum tere haal par mushkuraaye - Asha Bhosle (Ly: Naqsh Lyallpuri) (3:39 \ 128)

Exonji,

You're a true pal and a marvelous supporter. Thanks for being there several times during this series on Jaidevji by making some very hard to find songs available for everyone's enjoyment.

Many many cheers to you,

Prem Parbat (1973)

Here is an album with only five songs. My CD had only four of them. I am uploading these. The missing song is shown in red italics in the table below. If anyone of the mebers has it, please share with us.

What jumped out for me in this album was that Minu Purshottam singing a solo song. I don't believe I have heard her sing any solos before this. So many singers came and gone with so much talent to offer. It seems like we patronized only few of them and stuck with them forever. Minuji deseved better professionally as she has a very decent voice. Anyway, I am attaching a picture of hers below.

Now for details of the songs and songs themselves ...

Thanks a lot for these songs. I especially love the Yeh Dil aur unki Nigahon ke saaye for its beautiful Jaltarang. The Jal Tarang is a rarely seen instrument in songs. The only other one I can remember is from Jaidev's movie Hum Dono = Main Zindagi Ka Saath nibhata chala gaya. Are there any other songs with the Jaltarang or only Jaidev seems to have used it? I think seniors can tell better on this.

Very good job Swarnapriyaji and others.

Hildebrand
